And Why, when the Republicans were given the opportunity to say something - anything, to the nation and the world during the inauguration, when millions would be watching and listening, why did they not say something about lower taxes for millionaires or stop gun control and instead say:

"The American tradition of transferring or reaffirming immense power... we do this in a peaceful and orderly way. There is no mob, no coup, no insurrection. This is a moment when millions stop and watch."

- Senator Lamar Alexander (R.-Tenn

He also quoted Washington:

"The peaceful transition of power is what will separate this country from every other country in the world."

- George Washington

Which sparked the CNN commentator- David Gergen, to incorrectly comment:

"Not once at the point of a gun has someone taken power in this country."

I mean, why is that issue on their minds? Who was the Republican strategist who thought that one up and why?

Was there something more to the take down of Petraus?

Or were they thinking about JFK and wanting to imply that JFK wasn't taken down in a coup?

JFK would have been renominated at the 1964 Democratic National Convention in August in Atlantic City, but instead it was LBJ who got the nomination, a subject that I will be revisiting soon.

Here's a tease,
