I believe it true, and if so, then it is a good example of the types of unanswered questions that can still be answered today, especially if people are more willing to come forward for the anniversary.

I had heard that Nick Beef was a DJ who did this as a radio stunt. Bernice posted on it a couple years ago, check the archives.

I don't think much of the gag - an expensive, legalized version of graffiti. Sorry to sound puritanical.
