Ron Ecker Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 The other night on the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, one of Pelley's news stories was that 50 years ago Lee Harvey Oswald applied for a job at a printing company in Dallas. He didn't get the job, but not long thereafter he got a job at the TSBD, from which Oswald "shot President John F. Kennedy." I can't think of any reason why Oswald applying for a job he didn't get would be reported on the CBS Evening News in 2013 along with news of the government shutdown, the debt ceiling, etc. It was just so CBS could remind us once again that Oswald did it. I won't be watching Scott Pelley anymore, though I'm sure he doesn't care.
Richard Hocking Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Wonder why CBS is not also reporting the 50th anniversary of the trip to the Cuban and Russian embassies in Mexico City. They could show the photo of Oswald leaving the embassy, too.
Martin Blank Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 give them time. i hear they also have a tape of jack ruby telling jackie, "I'm going to do it for you, toots!" can't wait.
Ken Davies Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Martin, That tape may have been edited by Dan Rather, so it may have the words playing backwards.
Chris Newton Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 "applied" for a job vs. "got" a job. too bad they didn't see fit to explain how he stumbled on that job that he "got"
David Von Pein Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) Too bad they didn't see fit to explain how he [LHO] stumbled on that job that he "got". Yeah, if Scott Pelley of CBS News had taken the time to explain all of those details, then even more of the CBS viewers would have been made aware of the fact that the manner in which Lee Harvey Oswald obtained his Book Depository job could not possibly have been "conspiratorial" in nature. (Unless some people want to accuse Buell Frazier and Linnie Randle of being part of a "Let's Plant LHO In The Depository" scheme. And would anyone be silly enough to suggest something like that?) Chris Newton Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Hey David, Next time you and ruth are comparing pay stubs during her morning coffee, can you ask her about that telephone conversation with her husband? You know the one I mean, right?
