Nixon 1960 vs Nixon 1968 What if's?

Lot of Nixon on the news this week with the 40th Watergate anniversery.

Was not around those days, but for the people who were, had some questions :

1.We see Nixon as President as very angry, grumpy, and confrontational. If he became president in 61, would he have been the same type of person? Was he like that as VP?

2.If Nixon was President in 61, he would have gone ahead w/ the Bay of Pigs, but unlike Kennedy, he probably would have had the Marines invade during the invasion. With the marines for arguments sake, lets think the coup works, would we still have had the cuban missile crisis as an occupier of Cuba in 61 or having our own puppet government?
