Hi, Paul---just seeing your comment now.

I know about Col. George Lumpkin, Lt. Col. George Whitmeyer, and Secret Service agent Winston Lawson and their Counter Intelligence background in the Army.

“I don't know if this has been discussed, but the link below is to a 1966 Richardson (Texas) Daily News article that describes George Lumpkin as “Commandant of the 4150th ARSU Dallas United States Army Reserve School”.

ARSU is Army Reserve Service Unit

With respect to George Whitmeyer, Winston Lawson told the HSCA that Whitmeyer "taught army intelligence."

There were two reserve training centers in Dallas.

Muchert Reserve Center
10031 E. Northwest Highway,

Herzog Reserve Center
at 4900 S. Lancaster.

"Mr. Lawson acknowledged
that Lt. Col. George Whitmeyer, who was part of the Dallas District U.S. Army
Command, who Lawson said "taught Army Intelligence"
1/31/78 HSCA interview of Secret Service agent Winston Lawson (RIF#18010074-10396)

Jules E. Muchert Army Reserve Center

This Property was a part of the original boundaries of White Rock Lake Park. The City of Dallas sold the Property to the Federal Government in 1956 for an Army Reserve Training Center Site.

That pdf has some nice pictures in it.

There seems to be more to Boise B Smith, than meets the eye....

He too was part of Crichton's 488th... along with these DPD key personnel:  Lumpkin, Revill, Gannaway, Westbrook, Hill...

Many of the same names who graduated from the FBI National Academy in '59.

hmmm... FBI, Military Intelligence, Dallas....

David,

There was some discussion about this in a July 5, 2018 posting on George Lumpkin here:

http://educationforum.ipbhost.com/topic/25039-george-lumpkin/

It took several years for Dallas to get back into Hoover's good graces, and contributed heavily, I think, to Curry's downfall.

It's interesting that one of the names on this list, "James M Souter, Lieutenant, PD" is similar in name to Jean Soutre.  I wonder if any connection there exists....

Thanks

This particular video from this thread is fascinating in that the assassination of the President was monitored from here by the DPD, and in turn maybe the Military (?).  Possibly coordinated from there some seem to think.

Maybe my fascination is related to having been to the Texas State Fair more than once, passing by the Science Building, and never having any idea it was there.
