Trump is such a private country club with black servants indulged, spoiled elitist.

Hey boy, bring me another plate of butter and glass of water and tell your boss to call the golf barn to get my clubs and cart ready in 30 minutes.

"Yes Massa."

That life is a million miles removed from the real lives of the majority of Americans.

Yet, half the working class poor in this country think Trump really cares about them and will lead them to the promised land?

Joe B-

Trump's policies on trade and immigration---good or bad for the employee class?

The globalist class, which is also the multinational ruling class in DC, has bigger things on its minds that how to make life good for middle America.

(PS I love everybody. But importing cheap labor...you know who were the most ardent proponents of immigration in US history? The slavers. A lesson there.)

The globalist class keeps saying things are better than ever, and more globalism is the answer. But America's middle class knows things are getting worse, not better.

This schism is doing more to promote left- and right-wing extremism than any political actor.

The globalist answer is not that a nation should work for its citizenry, but that the citizenry should be divided against itself by race, class, sex, ethnicity, region.

Those guys driving pick-up trucks are the real reason America is going downhill. Right? Or inner-city welfare queens.

I know msnbc as a source should be taken with a grain of salt.  But, is the fuse lit on this and it's about to blow up?  If Guliani organized it, it was at the former prez's bidding.  The definition of a minion.

Ron,

This was probably a globalist/Deep State/Antifa plot to make Trump and Giuliani look like stupid crooks.

But the Republicans' favorite sociopath from the 1990s, Newt Gingrich is on it, with a new contract for America!

These January 6th investigators need to be locked up, as soon as the GOP gets back in control of Congress!

Unlike the Whitewater and Benghazi investigations, this January 6th investigation is a partisan witch hunt!

NARA is apparently SUPER pissed as well, and has opened its own investigation into phony elector documents from Arizona.

NARA has something resembling their own cops, which is something I never knew.

NARA=National Archives and Records Administration?

They have a police agency also?

Well, why not...there are 18 police-intel agencies already in the federal government, why not a few more?

They're probably conspiring even now to make Trump look like a wannabe dictator... 🤥

Correction, looks like not cops but investigators:

"POLITICO also obtained records indicating that National Archives investigators pursued a case of potential fraud against a second slate of would-be Trump electors in Arizona who identified themselves as “sovereign citizens.” An Archives inspector general official said the agency declined to comment on “ongoing” work."

I am disappointed.

I was hoping to see fedora-topped NARA gunsels perp-walking handcuffed Trumpers for fraud against the National Archives and Records Administration.

Political theater has been pretty good lately, but we need a second act.

Well...

I find some of Carlson's views interesting.

Really, does the US needs to be in every corner of the globe, from Vietnam to Ukraine to Afghanistan?

CNN and MSNBC have become Deep State catamites and cheerleaders....

Hard to say what is worse anymore....

He's not a "reporter" and any confusion of that is one of the problems we have today. You take as news garbage that spews from his mouth. Ridiculous.

Yes, but the Congress can seize all your phone, internet, banking, business or organizational records, and subpoena you to appear before Congress.

And you are incorrect, the Congress can imprison someone who refuses to honor a subpoena.

"There are several ways members of Congress can do this:

1) They can tell the House or Senate sergeant-at-arms to detain or imprison the person in contempt until he or she honors congressional demands. This is called "inherent contempt." But it's extremely rare and hasn't happened in modern times."--CNN

Barring the direct imprisonment of a citizen, the Congress can ask the Executive Branch to do the imprisoning.

"Congress can vote on criminal contempt, then make a referral to the executive branch -- headed by the President -- to try to get the person criminally prosecuted. A month or more jail sentence is a possibility if a witness won't comply, under the law. This is the approach members of Congress have indicated publicly they'd want to pursue."---CNN

OK, so if you do not comply with Congress, they can have the executive branch imprison you. I assume after a  court order, although it is not clear.

In any event, having seized your phone, text, internet, business, organizational and banking records, the Congress can splash those in front of public committee hearings, where they control the timing and content of releases, and provide other context.

This may all seem fine and dandy now to some....but....

One thing to ponder: Right now, the betting is the Trump-GOP will sweep the 2022 elections, and win back control of House and Senate.

Then the often nutty GOP'ers will issuing the Congressional subpoenas, and possibly conducting an impeachment proceeding of Biden.

Well, the 'Phant Congress will offer some diversions from the humdrum of plebeian life...as do the Donks.

The DC Gong Show continues....

You're reporting this obviously erroneous article headline as something significant and yet the writer of said piece has eliminated himself of any serious consideration less than one sentence into the screed.

The imprisonment you're talking about has to do with the refusal to appear and not the underlying reason to appear. They have been Constitutionally awarded that punishment because no additional review is necessary other than to observe whether the person is in their chair or not. Said person can show up and claim the 5th at any time without any threat of imprisonment. They are two separate unrelated issues.

The referral is taken up by the DoJ, not the President (I know Republicans don't understand the difference) and is treated like any other Federal offense with a Prosecutor, Defense Attorney, Judge and Jury. Congress has the authority to forward those referrals because they take on the role of an "investigative body" with authority to do so. Under Obama, the Republican Congress went on several fishing expeditions (see H. Clinton - who cooperated) trying to turn up crap that was not ever referred to a court for prosecution because they were unable to secure the information. They have easily been able to do in a multitude of cases under and about Trump, which are still ongoing and will be for some time.

I am not sure how you disagree with the CNN article above.

1. US Congress can seize all records, travel records (including GPS by smartphone), phone calls, texts, e-mails, mail,  business documents etc. without a warrant.

2. Congress can directly, or through the Justice Department, imprison anyone who does not comply. Yes, you can take the Fifth, and that will be broadcast on TV.

3. The Congress can easily control the narrative through public hearings, and who is invited to appear, the timing and topic of sessions, and through agile manipulation of complicit media.

4. As with HUAC, the Warren Commission, the Select Committee on Benghazi or 1/6 Gong Shows...there really is no defense of the "accused." The "accused" do not control sessions, topics, length of hearings etc.  Sometimes the accused can mount a counter-PR campaign, but that is about it.

What are you disagreeing about?
