The GOP Just Borrowed a Soviet Skill and Disappeared Liz Cheney

In the good ol’ Soviet days, a fall from political grace manifested itself in party propaganda. Western diplomats and spies would scour every snippet of material that made its way to them for hints about who was up, who was down, and—most crucially—who was out. It’s from that last element of Kremlinology that they could often glean the most vital information, even in a closed and byzantine system. For instance, diplomats in Washington could usually assume the omission of someone from a class photo at the Kremlin meant that official’s pet policies would also soon disappear.

It’s not just the Soviets who are masters of disappearing someone. Just look at Wyoming, where voters this week drubbed a former senior member of the Republican establishment out of office on orders from former President Donald Trump. Rep. Liz Cheney lost her bid for renomination by a stunning 37 points after daring to hold Trump accountable for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Trump made defeating Cheney his top priority, making his contempt for her and her famous family clear. The Republican National Committee didn’t even mention Cheney in their statement Tuesday evening on Harriet Hageman’s victory in the deep-red state.

Cheney had, before Jan. 6, enjoyed a privileged place in the Republican Party. She was the daughter of a former Vice President and a conservative powerplayer mom. She had stints at the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development during the George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush administration, worked for a time at the World Bank, and was a player of her own making in conservative groups around town. She won election to her father’s former House seat in 2016, and from there moved quickly into the ranks of leadership. Her resume was, put simply, golden.

From the above article:   the former president has apparently benefited from its conservative agent ranks: Mr. Comey and bureau executives have said that it was anti-Clinton agents in the New York field office leaking information that pressured them to release public news about the discovery of new emails pertaining to Hillary Clinton in October 2016. “The F.B.I. is Trumpland,” one agent told The Guardian in the days before the election.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'Tim Williams @timwilliamsart 1d Harriet Hageman...also known as "The last face you see before you wake up in a Motel 6 ice-filled bathtub with one of your kidneys missing."'

Yes. Attention!, this isn't a meme! It's the new Trumpette Hyperthyroid Model!, coming soon!

The former director of the CIA, explicitly endorses HRC in the NYT, pre-election.

The NYT was so enamored of this Morrel op-ed, Q/A they ran a companion piece,

I am not sure intel officials should ever get involved in politics, this goes beyond Trump v. Clinton.

But here is the unsettling truth: The left-wing is now taking cues from the Deep State.  Former intel officials swarm over CNN, MSNBC and NYT, WaPo, where they are feted, especially if they say anything anti-Trump.

JFKA researcher Richard Russell has written about how many of the "new left wing" news-sites, such as Insider or Daily Beast, have been funded by the CIA.

There is no loyal opposition anymore to huge expansion of military-intel funding or powers. The Espionage Act, long loathed by civil libertarians, is now championed.

Indeed, while members of this forum remain obsessed with Trump's hoped-for pending execution, and the Mar-a-Lago raid, another $50 billion was added onto the Defense Department funding request by Congress, without detectable debate.

In other words, if the powers of the panopticon state can be weaponized and applied to political opponents...then we love the panopticon.

Would you say the Secret Service was part of The Deep State? Shoot, those guys tried to facilitate a coup on Trump's behalf and didn't inform the Speaker of the House of credible death threats against her in the days prior to Jan. 6.

Twitter ‘permanently suspends’ HD 20 candidate after he advocates shooting federal agents

https://floridapolitics.com/archives/548917-miguel-tweet/

“A Republican candidate for the House from St. Augustine is banned from Twitter after advocating violence against the federal government.

Republican Luis Miguel, running against incumbent Rep. Bobby Payne of Palatka in the redrawn House District 20, was suspended from Twitter after a tweet advocating that Floridians should be able to shoot federal agents on sight.

“Under my plan, all Floridians will be able to shoot FBI, IRS, ATF, and all other federal troops on sight,” Miguel tweeted. “Let freedom ring.”

Miguel told Florida Politics Friday the suspension, which is “permanent” per a message he got on his Twitter app, “doesn’t affect (him) at all.” He stands by the proposal, which he says is justified because the IRS has been “weaponized by dissident forces.””

“Miguel is still active on Instagram, where the post advocating shooting federal agents is still displayed,…”

“He also is still on Facebook. The same messages recur there.”

Oh... my... God.
