Exclusive: Trump attorneys haven’t found classified document former president referred to on tape following subpoena

By Kaitlan Collins, Paula Reid and Katelyn Polantz, CNN

Updated 12:31 PM EDT, Fri June 2, 2023

https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/02/politics/donald-trump-iran-subpoena/index.html

“Prosecutors issued the subpoena shortly after asking a Trump aide before a federal grand jury about the audio recording of a July 2021 meeting at Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey. On the recording, Trump acknowledges he held onto a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran.

Prosecutors sought “any and all” documents and materials related to Mark Milley, Trump’s chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Iran, including maps or invasion plans, the sources say. A similar subpoena was sent to at least one other attendee of the meeting, another source tells CNN.”

“After receiving the subpoena to Trump, his legal team spoke with aides and collected materials responsive to the subpoena, including the transcripts of recordings made by Trump aides and any other documents that mentioned Milley or Iran, sources say.

The legal team was unable to locate the document Trump mentions on the tape, the sources say, and it remains unclear if it was ever returned to the government or where it is now.”

Good news and bad news for long suffering Denver Nuggets fans.

The good news is that the Nuggets won Game #1 of the NBA Championship series against the Miami Heat in Denver last night.

Suddenly, WaPo and the national media are writing glowing articles about Denver's Serbian phenom, Nikola Jokic.

The bad news is that Miami couldn't buy a bucket during the first three quarters of last night's game.  If they had made some basic shots, they could have won.

Trump former Attorney, Timother Parlatore told Ari Melber tonight that without the document, the tape is worthless.. Trump could have been waving around a blank sheet of paper, claiming it was a classified document.

Think it was deep-sixed?

The document is probably in Riyadh.

Meanwhile, Trump posted on Truth Social today, "We are Magadonians. We stick together."

Did he just watch Oliver Stone's movie, Alexander, or what?

Thom Hartmann  cites a NYT article now proclaiming what we already knew. That Regan sabotaged then President Jimmy Carter's  attempts to free American hostages in Iran, with his guns for hostages deal that ended up  ensuring  his election over Carter. Then Hartmann cites Nixon undercutting LBJ in Vietnam. Then the 2000 stolen election and the resultant War in Iraq.

Michael Moore embellishes Thom Hartmann's piece with his own.

Oh, W. Doesn't sound like you can believe your own hometown team's success? I don't know why. I knew they were going to  kill the Lakers. The Lakers weren't that good. I knew the Warriors weren't going to repeat. I haven't had much time to follow,so I can't say much about the Heat, bu I think the Nuggets are champs.

Thank goodness.

Kudos to the legislators from both parties who derailed the Trump/MAGA efforts to sabotage the U.S.

 Executive Summary

This model prosecution memorandum assesses potential charges federal prosecutors may bring against former President Donald Trump. It focuses on those emanating from his handling of classified documents and other government records since leaving office on January 20, 2021. It includes crimes related to the removal and retention of national security information and obstruction of the investigation into his handling of these documents. The authors have decades of experience as federal prosecutors and defense lawyers, as well as other legal expertise. Based upon this experience and the analysis that follows, we conclude that Trump should–and likely will–be charged.
