Groubert Part II on EH Hunt; Plane Crash and Nixon-JFKA Nexus?

Mark Groubert wanders a bit in this episode, and saves the E. Howard Hunt-JFKA info for Part III. Stay tuned. 

But there are some tidbits in here, for history buffs. 

For those who like mystery-conspiracies, the crash of UAL flight 553 at Chicago's Midway Airport is a doozy, the one with Hunt's wife aboard. More than 50 FBI agents were on the scene within an hour, William Doyle Ruckelshaus would later confirm. The FAA control tower tapes were seized, and flight recorders didn't work.

Hunt's wife was carrying $10k in cash and $700 more in her purse (multiply by 7.5 for current dollars). EH Hunt's explanation of why his wife had so much cash don't hold water. 

A Chicago area investigative reporter of some repute, Sherman Skolnick, looked into the plane crash. 

But first Wiki on Skolnick: 

Skolnick's investigations put Otto Kerner Jr. in prison for three years; and led to the resignation of two Illinois Supreme Court justices, Roy J. Solfisburg, Jr. and Ray Klingbiel, who, as Skolnick reported, had accepted bribes of stock from a defendant in a case on which they ruled.^[4] The scandal catapulted John Paul Stevens, special counsel to an investigating commission, to fame as a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.^[6] In 2001, the story became the subject of a book, Illinois Justice, by Kenneth A. Manaster.^[6] His investigations also revealed corruption at the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI).

OK, so Skolnick had some cred. But Wiki leaves out entirely Skolnick's investigation and conclusion that flight 553 had been sabotaged. Who runs Wikipedia anymore? 

Skolnick later in life would come to believe in many conspiracies, and some were not really credible.  Skolnick for while contended that Nixon had a hand in the JFKA, and the plane crash was related to that.

FWIW, Saint John Hunt claimed in one of his books that his mom had millions of dollars in a suitcase sitting on the seat next to her to pay the Watergate buglars lawyers. He also states that the FBI were on site before the crash and that a crash survivor walked off the plane and into the night.

NTF--Saint John Hunt...well, not sure his tale holds water. 

Maybe the fellow who disappeared into the night needed to make a connecting flight. Haha.
