John Geraghty
The title not only refers to holding shares in companies but also acting as consultants for large corporate clients, also ministers should act with the rest of the cabinet while deciding on who to hand government contracts to. It has become apparent to me that in the United States at the moment, holding public office is nothing more than insider trading. Finding secrets n future government economic policies which affect the whole country. This practise is not restricted to the US, in ireland in recent years there have been a number of tribunals investigating politicians taking money from investors so that they may rezone land for industrial development which the businessmen have purchased from farmers for peanuts. I personally do not believe that politicians should be allowed to hold shares in companies while in office. Politicians salaries should be enough. john
