When looking and reading on the topic of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy, one should not overlook those persons who were captured with him and who also spent time imprisoned.

One of these persons was Francis R. Lubbock, former Governor to the State of Texas, who returned to Texas after the end of the war.

Another person captured with Jefferson Davis was John Henniger Reagan, Postmaster General of the Confederacy and acting Secretary of the Treasury at the end of the war.

After release from prison, John Henniger Reagan also moved to Texas and later became  a United States Senator. (1887-1891)

In order to assist in his Career Development, John Henniger Reagan was the recepient of an "Honarary Degree" which was bestowed upon him by Tulane University of New Orleans, LA.

And, not unlike any good "Son of the South", John Henniger Reagan named his frist born son "Jefferson Davis Reagan".

Thereafter, Jefferson Davis Reagan had a daughter, Ruby Taylor Regan, who married Thomas Soule, Jr.

With his "University of Louisiana" education and aid-de-camp to the Governor of LA experience, as well as Law Practice, it is not difficult to see why he became the first head of Tulane.

Also referenced is the quite famous "Washington Artillery" of Louisiana which had it's own building in New Orleans after the war.

"ìIn 1958, three of the men who worked for Henri Soule found another place on 55th Street which had been a speakeasy during Prohibition and decided to open an elegant bistro.

Creating the restaurant was intimidating. The three men were coming from Mr. Soule who set the standards. But just before they opened, there was some kind of argument between Ambassador Joseph P. Kennedy and Henri Soule. Kennedy came to one of the owners and said, ìFreddy, you open your place, weíll be there on the first day.î And when the restaurant opened on September 21, 1960, the Kennedys were there. They backed La Caravelle morally and financially.

Less than two months after La Caravelle opened, John F. Kennedy became president. The timing was terrific. He and Jackie came to La Caravelle often. It became the favored place.

After La Caravelle, La Grenouille followed in 62 and Lutece in 63. The 1960ís was a French culinary invasion. La Caravelle was the first restaurant that bridged out from Le Pavilion. But everything came from Henri Soule."

Under the LHO topic, information relative to LHO & his cousin PGT Beauregard was provided.

This kinship came about as a result of the marriage of "Bella" Claverie to a member of the Beauregard family.

What was not said was that this was the second marriage for Bella Clavarie.
