Newcastle must have been mad to replace Robson with Souness. His Blackburn team were struggling at the time and it was only a matter of time before he was sacked from that job. Souness’ sergeant-major style no longer works with modern footballers. Newcastle will continue to struggle while he remains manager. Funny headline in today’s Guardian: “Someone must take goals to Newcastle”. Michael Owen is the person they want. But if you were Owen, would you want to play for Souness?
