I believe it is possible that William Pawley paid for the assassination of JFK.

Pawley came from a wealthy family in the United States. During the Second World War he founded the Flying Tigers (American Volunteer Group) unit in China.

After the war Pawley held several diplomatic posts in Latin America, including being the United States Ambassador in Brazil and Peru. Pawley developed right-wing political views and was active in the Republican Party.

A close friend of CIA director Allen W. Dulles, he took part in a policy that later become known as Executive Action (a plan to remove unfriendly foreign leaders from power). Pawley played a role in the a coup d'état that overthrew the Guatemalan government of Jacobo Arbenz in 1954 after he introduced land reforms and nationalized the United Fruit Company.

In the 1950s Pawley owned an airline and a bus company in Cuba. He helped keep Fulgencio Batista in power after he lost the support of the people. After Batista was overthrown by Fidel Castro, Pawley pressurized President Eisenhower to provide military and financial help to anti-Castro Cubans based in the United States.

In the winter of 1962 Eddie Bayo claimed that two officers in the Red Army based in Cuba wanted to defect to the United States. Bayo added that these men wanted to pass on details about atomic warheads and missiles that were still in Cuba despite the agreement that followed the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Bayo had originally fought with Fidel Castro against Fulgencio Batista. He disagreed with Castro's policies after he gained power and moved to Miami and helped establish Alpha 66. His story was eventually taken up by several members of the anti-Castro community including Gerry P. Hemming, John Martino, Felipe Vidal Santiago and Frank Sturgis. Pawley became convinced that it was vitally important to help get these Soviet officers out of Cuba. To help this happen he communicated with James Eastland, the chairman of the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee, about this story.

Pawley also contacted Ted Shackley, head of the CIA's JM WAVE station in Miami. Shackley decided to help Pawley organize what became known as Operation Tilt. He also assigned William (Rip) Robertson, a fellow member of the CIA in Miami, to help with the operation. David Sanchez Morales, another CIA agent, also became involved in this attempt to bring out these two Soviet officers.

In June, 1963, a small group, including Pawley, Eddie Bayo, William (Rip) Robertson, John Martino, and Richard Billings, a journalist working for Life Magazine, secretly arrived in Cuba. They were unsuccessful in their attempts to find these Soviet officers and they were forced to return to Miami. Bayo remained behind and it was rumoured that he had been captured and executed. However, his death was never reported in the Cuban press.

William Pawley died of gunshot wounds in January, 1977. Officially it was suicide but some researchers believe it was connected to the investigations being carried out by the House Select Committee on Assassinations.

John;

1. Without doubt, Pawley was connected to the assassination.

2. As a relatively "unethical" businessman, Pawley certainly acquired the financial capital to hove placed the "price" on JFK's head.

Especially since he obviously had access to some of the funds of Prio as well.

3. Pawley was personally & (financially) involved with those groups who continued to harass Castro through their providing of weapons and training to anti-Castro forces, as well as the various direct action missions against Cuba.

4. Pawley was an almost "rabid" anti-communists.

5. Pawley was smart enough to continually pay compliments to J.E. Hoover and his dedication, as well as complimenting the work of Hoover's FBI Agents at the Embassy where Pawley was assigned.

In this regard, he had "direct" contact with J.E. H., not to mention access to information which few others would or could obtain.

6. Pawley had previously lost the "fruit" of his labors and work when his work in China and China National Airlines was taken by the communists.

He also suffered a similar "loss" when Castro took his Cuban Transportation (Bus) line as well as Cubana Airlines.

And this is merely those interest which Pawley owned in Cuba of which there is some record.

7. When one follows the Carribean and South & Central America background history of Pawley, they should also take the time and effort to compare this with the travel history of one George DeMohrenschildt.

8. In addition to the record of Pawley as an ambassador to two separate South American countries, one must also look at Pawley's association with Guatemala, which of course places one in direct linkage with United Fruit.

Which of course also leads directly to New Orleans, LA.

And, as most should be aware, the father of Fidel Castro also had a direct connection to the same company.

9. Pawley was almost as "rabid" against Romulo Betancourt of Venezuela, as he was pro-Trujillo of the Dominican Republic.

That an attempted (failed) assassination of Betancourt occurred, followed by a successful such event against Trujullio, certainly appears to have bearing on the subject matter.

Especially when one considers LHO's open discussion with fellow marines in which the subject of Betancourt was brought up.

Then of course, there is the fact that Betancourt, upon becoming President of Venezuela in 1945, secured one-half of the oil company profits within his country.

Which certainly strikes one as "highly" coincidental that DeMohrenschildt took his trip to Venezuela for Pantepac Oil Company in 1945 as well.

Needless to say, there are many trails which lead back to, and serve to indicate that Pawley was most assuredly a direct part of the assassination.

Most probably, he provided the money/price for the action to whoever was controlling LHO. As well as providing various aspects of intelligence and directions which LHO should take in order that the ultimate finger would be pointed at Fidel Castro.

Perhaps these connections should be revealed under this topic of Pawley's name, for those who wish to follow the correct trails.

One could assume that:

A. Since Pawley was a close associate to President Eisenhower, and that he frequently visited the President---

B. That Jack Porter (Homa Jackson Porter), Republican Campaign Manager for the State of Texas, who was also a close associate of President Eisenhower, and that he also frequently visited the President--

In violation of the 1903 Treaty between Cuba and the United States, Mr. Pawley was allowed to open a business which was located in the town of Caimanera, Cuba (not on leased Naval Property/Guantanamo).

Four years later, Mr. Pawley opened an additional branch of his business at the leased wharfs/dock area located at Key (Fort) Toro.

In addition to these business locations, Mr. Pawley came to conduct one of the largest business enterprises in Haiti.

NOPE!

Not William D. Pawley. We are referring to his father, Edward Porcher Pawley, of Florence, SC.

E. P. (Edward Porcher) Pawley, father of William D. Pawley, (& four other children) was allowed to open what was considered to be the first American business enterprise in Cuba after signing of the 1903 treaty between the US & Cuba.

In moving to Cuba (and later Haiti), EP Pawley carried with him his entire family which reportedly was 5 son's.

Even though the 1903 treaty specifically prohibited American/foreign enterprise on the Cuban land, in 1904, shortly after occupation of Guantanamo Naval Base by the US Navy & US Marines, Mr. EP Pawley was, for some reason, allowed to open a business which sold furniture and other goods and services.

This business was located in the small town/village of Caimanera which was located just outside the boundary of the Guantanamo Naval Base leased areas.

In 1908, Mr. Pawley was allowed to open a branch business at the wharf area in the vicinity of Key Toro.

Some years later, (after US Marine occupation of Hispanola), Mr. Pawley was by the year 1918, considered to have one of the largest business enterprises in Haiti.

Now, we know exactly how WD Pawley, as well as his entire family, ended up in the Cuban and Haiti/Dominican Republic area.

P.S. I have yet to verify if the "Jack Porter" as listed in the notebook of Jack Ruby, is or is not the one and same of whom we speak.

Since Mr. Porter became somewhat involved in "sugar", as well as Mr. Pawley's reported involvment in the "ConBribe" sugar scheme, just perhaps there is additional "sugar" interest worth delving into.

a. Mr. Porter, President of the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association (TIPRO), and Republican Campaign Manager for the State of Texas, who had personal and direct connection with Dwight Eisenhour, attempted to get gun runner Robert McKeown to intercede with Fidel Castro in relationship to "sugar quota's"

b. William D. Pawley was (by FBI documents) implicated in what was referred to as "ConBribe" which was an FBI investigation into payoffs to various members of Congress for political favors.

Pawley's part in this had to do with his reported involvement with the Dominican Republic Sugar Industry, which was also closely related to the Haitian sugar industry.

c. In early 1963, George DeMohrenschild travelled to Haiti, and although he testified that this was in relationship to "Oil" industry, Dorothe Matlack of Army Intelligence, when interviewed by the HSCA, stated that DeMohrenschildt was involved in the "jute" business.

JUTE----------A strong glossy fiber from either of two tropical plants used especially for making sacks and twine.

Ms. Matlack reportedly stated: "I knew the Texan wasn't there to sell hemp."

d. The only "jute"/"hemp" business of mention in Haiti was the "sisal" company of Dauphin Plantation/East Bay Plantation which bordered the Dominican Republic.

SISAL-------A strong cordage fiber derived from a member of the agave plant. Utilized in making rope.

The Dauphin/East Bay Plantation had actually made a profit for investors during the WWII years when there was a shortage of true hemp, and they had received a US Government contract for production for the Navy.

However, by the time that George DeMohrenschildt was associated with "jute/hemp" production in 1963, production of hemp/jute/rope/sisal had ceased.

e. However, in 1953, the plantation lands had been sold to the Haitian American Sugar Company.

And, although the hemp/rope/sisal corporation entity was still in effect when George DeMohrenschildt visted, there was no production as all of the available land had long prior been converted to the sugar industry.

f. Gulf & Western Corporation was a major owner of sugar interests in the Carribean. This included South Puerto Rico Sugar, as well as being one of the three largest sugar producers in the Dominican Republic under Trujillio.

g. One of the "large" corporate investors in Gulf & Western stock was the stockbrokerage firm of Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith.

Mr. Fenner, of course, being the son of Judge Fenner of New Orleans, LA, in whose home Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of American, died.

h. Within the Presidential Papers of Republican President (appointed/non-elected) Gerald Ford, can be found a small amount of reference to William D. Pawley.

This reference is as follows:

Campaign Finance-------Pawley, William D.

Congressional Elections, Campaign Funds, Grand Rapids, Sugar.

I. Gulf & Western Corporation lists on their stock certificates "Grand Rapids, Michigan" as their home of record.

And of course, the discussion of Mr. Pawley's financial "contributions" to Congressmen has already been discussed under the topic "ConBribe".

EDWARD P. PAWLEY

Birth: abt 1865

Residence: Cuba

Although the "Pawley" family of Georgetown, SC/Florence, SC/Pawley's Island, SC was once of great wealth, and could trace their ancestry to the American Revolution, this wealth ended after the Civil War.

The Pawley's of SC owned several plantations of considerable size, which were heavily involved in rice production.

After the end of the Civil War and release of the "slave labor", these plantations could no longer support themselves and much of the land as well as plantation homes were lost/sold.

The initial "wealth" of the Pawly family of William Douglas Pawley, was derived initially from the efforts of his father, Edward Porcher Pawley, who began initially involved with selling goods in Cuba from the 1904 through at least 1908/1910 period. Records indicate that this business stayed in operation until approximately 1917, with a branch of the business being opened in 1908 at the Fort Toro Wharf. Thereafter, Edward P. Pawley is reported as becoming involved in the same type business in Haiti.

The "business" of Edward P. Pawley was initially established at the village of Caimanera, which was located just outside the Guantanamo Naval Base.

This business, on Cuban soil, (outside the boundaries of the Naval Lease) was in direct violation of the 1903 US/Cuban Treaty.

Survival in this business climate required bribe payments to those in power, as well as "kickbacks" to those who fronted the monies for the business investments.

This, is the "business climate" in which William Douglas Pawley earned his degree in "Business Administration".

I believe it is possible that William Pawley paid for the assassination of JFK.

Pawley came from a wealthy family in the United States. During the Second World War he founded the Flying Tigers (American Volunteer Group) unit in China.

Pawley's Plantation (Golf Course)

Pawley's Island, SC

Area produced half of America's rice from 1840 to 1860.

The Pawley family were dependent upon slave labor, as were all other plantations. After the Civil War, the Pawley family lost most of their properties, as well as their wealth and position.

The "wealth" of the William D. Pawley family was acquired through the initial efforts of the father, Edward Porcher Pawley, in Cuba and Haiti. And, thereafter continued through the often "shady" business dealings of William Douglas Pawley, who not unlike his father, maintained property and business enterprises throughout Cuba; Haiti; and the Dominican Republic.

BTW - 602 hits at NARA. No cross reference for Dulles, Shackley, Robertson, Eisenhower, etc.

One for Martino. Two for Clare Luce.

Martino has merit!

Clare Booth Luce is merely more of the "available knowledge" association, as well as the political influence and money which she had available, of which Pawley could and did take advantage to his benefit.

Her Republican Party association with Eisenhour; Ambassador to Brazil; marriage to Luce & China connections; association with Chiang Kai Sheck & General Stillwell, which obviously has some bearing on Intercontinent (Pawley)formation/CAMCO/AVG/Flying Tigers, all leads her to a person with whom Pawley would have come in frequent contact with.

Luce himself, of course developed the right wing opposition which would have fed Pawley any information which was needed to support the anti-communist causes which Pawley expoused.

Luce's father having been a "missionary" serving in China.

Henry Luce, of course, having been born in China, and he and Clare having made a trip there in 1941 to visit with Chiang Kai Shek.

Clare herself had apparantly visited with Chiang Kai Shek previous to this visit.

This too of course being a part of the "China Connection" which links many of those who came to be a part of the subject of the assassination of JFK.

When one correlates the "China" connection, then the puzzle begins to come considerably more clear as to how these persons were interconnected.

The "Luce" connection appears to be no more than most of the other connections to persons of wealth and power, and information, which William D. Pawley utilized to further his own personal wealth and agenda.

Just in case anyone is interested in exactly how it came to be that William D. Pawley came to have so much knowledge as relates to the CIA and their operations.

Certainly gives one the "edge" in certain matters.
