Is Tim Gratz as far right as John sees him and is John really as liberal and left as he thinks?

Where do you belong to? Are you a neighbour of Nelson Mandela or do you prefer to eat pasta with Silvio Berlusconi ?

Are you tough enough to bear the truth? If you want to know the answers click below

I found myself next to the guy who took off his clothes and wrapped himself in a blanket.

same, though I would have liked a neutral option on some of the q's

Most interesting information, George!

John must be wrong about me (as I thought). I am not to the right of Attila the Hun!

Here was my score:

Economic Left/Right: 3.25

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.79

Wish I could reproduce the chart.

My point was on a line three to the right of the vertical center line and two lines above the horizontal center line.

Clearly I am moderately to the right of center, and tending more toward an authortarian perspective than a libertarian.

I would encourage everyone to take the interesting test and if they want post their results.

Who were you close to in the chart? George Bush? Going by those scores you could be classed as a neo-fascist.

The chart is flawed. Saddam Hussein appears as a left-wing authoritarian. In fact, like Hitler, he imprisoned or executed all left-wing leaders when he gained power.

I always enjoy political quizzes like this one, and the inevitable arguments resulting from the interpretation thereof... It is evident on this thread.

I, like John D., would have preferred the availability of neutral answers, as many of the questions were worded as absolutes. The logician in me cannot get past questions like this, as the word "ALWAYS" and other absolutes trigger a nearly immediate degree of disagreement.

My score came out:

Economic Left/Right: 2.25

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.82

...putting me squarely in that unoccupied lower-right quadrant! But I expected this. As I elucidated in another post, my views are largely in line (although tempered, as the scores show) with the American Libertarian Party (www.lp.org).

Another comment: If one considers the actual distances between various peoples' positions on things, some of origins of the rather heated political exchanges that occur on this forum are visible. To someone who is scoring (for example) -8 for both, someone who scores +2 for both will seem VERY far to the right (there is a delta of 10 for both scores... that is large). On the other hand, the person who score +2 in both will not seem that far to the right to a chap who scored -2 in both... Perspective, as they say....
