John Simkin
As part of an Open University project, “Arguing in history”, researchers have this month been assessing the impact of computer conferencing on the development of Year 9 pupils’ arguing skills as they explored reasons for the rise of Nazism. Findings will be disseminated at a three-week computer conference, June 1-22, followed by a training day in Milton Keynes, July 6, co-organised by the Historical Association and TeachandLearn. Next year participants will run their own computer conferences between schools and pupils. Fee: £25. Application closing date: May 2.
