John Simkin
The BBC is suggesting that Romano Prodi has defeated Silvio Berlusconi by 49.8% against 49.7% in the lower house. As someone who has spent time studying Berlusconi's corruption, I am amazed that the result was so close. Is it true that such a large percentage of the Italian population voted for this man? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4897994.stm

It is also interesting to hear many people say that, as he was able to make of fortune by himself, he can help the whole country to get rich !!!
