It is not clear at all that the man in the pickup truck was "erased" from the ZFilm. If that is the pickup truck then what is clear is that he was not in the back of the pickup truck. If the traffic was stopped, as you say, he may have got out of the front of the pickup truck and got into the back of the pickup truck.
