LHO in NYC

I hope this fits in peripherally. A curious coincidence is Trotsky himself.

For some reason, the Bronx was the place he choose to come to after expulsion from the USSR, and where he wrote his (IMO monumental) 'History of the Russian Revolution'.

John, he only lived there a few months pre revolution, earning a quid as a lecturer and journalist. You can read about his time in NY here MY LIFE CH: XXII NEW YORK

It would be reasonable to think that there would be a concentration of radical scholars here that in some way add to the local 'color'.

Oh yes. Big Time.

Lee was there not long after Trotsky had been assassinated in Mexico. There are perhaps elements contributing to Lees development to be considered.

Agreed.

Oswald in NY boils down to two elements: Firstly, Socialists/radicals/communists and those rooting them out. The latter group included John Pic, Robert Morris, and various subcommittees. Secondly, efforts by the DoD to obtain future ability to pick those servicemen susceptible to brainwashing and interrogation techniques and ways to quarentine the forces from same.

Those who were "turned" in Korea scared the pants off of the USG and its agencies. Some Kurious koincidences: Dr Kurian's boss at the Court Clinic was a Dr Harris Peck. Peck was associated with another psychiatrist who had been part of the study of those POWs. As I've shown, some of the documentation that went to the court clinic did not get returned to John Carro. It was a chronology which probably made for a very good profile of the type the DoD was interested in. Morris, who worked on various subversion committees, would later turn up in Dallas, and lastly, one subcommittee which was holding meetings in NY in 1954 (and at wich Peck testified) would, some 9 years later, be investigating mail order weapons, with a particular interest in Seaport Traders and Kleins.

Thank you, Greg. I found a reference stating that he wrote tHRR in New York. My life and tHRR appear both published in 1930. The 'size' of both indicate perhaps he wrote parts of it pre revolution while in NY. I'll try to find if there were any other time he was there. He did wonder about returning. There was a time pre mexico when he was stateless. (Eugine Debs sounds like an interesting supporter of Trotsky.)
