Jack White Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 On Sunday July 14, 1991 at 5:15 a.m. a naked assassin attacked me as I slept, stabbing me in the chest more than a dozen times with an icepick, hitting me in the head and fracturing my skull and destroying my hearing. Leaving me for unconscious or dead, he started chasing my wife as she was trying to call 911 for help. Though near death, I managed to run next door for help. The neighbors called police and ambulance as I collapsed on their front porch. Within 15 minutes I was in the emergency room at the hospital. The assassin fled without harming my wife. I was near death for four days and was in the hospital 24 days. The ER doctors told me I was only minutes from death from a collapsed lung and other injuries...but miraculously I was given a "second life". Now in my 15th year of my new life, I am trying to make it count for good. Grateful to be here. Jack

Very best wishes to you, Bruce

I too, know what it is like to have had a second and third chance at life after battling two separate bouts with cancer .... the last being given less than a 30% of survival. It truly does make one grateful to be here. Bill Edited July 14, 2006 by Bill Miller

Jack White Posted July 14, 2006 Author Posted July 14, 2006 (edited) That's terrible. Sorry to hear that awful experience happened to you. Did they ever catch the man? Do you think it had anyhting to do with your work on the JFK case?Happy Birthday btw I will let YOU decide. Read the CIA Assassination Manual at: http://johnmccarthy90066.tripod.com/id496.html ...especially note the part about USING WEAPONS AT HAND; my "assassin" used an ice pick taken from my wife's knitting basket, used for punching holes in cloth. The ice pick was never found, so no fingerprints; the "assassin" was never found; his clothes were never found. NO MOTIVE was ever deduced, although he took a pair of my shorts and my car keys, and escaped in my car, which he abandoned, very coincidentally I am sure, at the back parking lot of the place of employment of Gary Mack...about a mile from my house. I am told that assassins often are naked to avoid blood on clothes and absence of clothing description. This man had athletic build, crewcut hair, clean shaven, no alcohol, white guy (sort of military looking). Fifteen years later, my wife and I could still pick him out of a lineup. Jack PS...I am NOW in my THIRD life, having just passed the first anniversary of an almost fatal heart attack. I am now doubly on borrowed time! Edited July 14, 2006 by Jack White

Welcome back I remember asking an older friend of mine once (she was doing a masters in philosophy and I was wistful) what she would do if she found out she was going to die in six months. She laughed, and said "exactly what I'm doing now." ________ This fellow who tried to kill you knew where your wifes pick was, where your keys were, and of a connection to the JFK stuff? I'm assuming that, by assuming that Gary was also working on JFK stuff. So the killing was premeditated, in some way 'inside'? Aimed at the research community etc.? Whart were you working on at this time prior to the attack? What was Gary's place of employment at this time?
Brendan Slattery Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 NO MOTIVE was ever deduced, So why did you use the word "assassin"? Are you so conceited that you think you're worthy of being bumped off? LOL. Happy b-day.

Whart were you working on at this time prior to the attack? What was Gary's place of employment at this time? 1. My wife's sewing basket was in a downstairs closet that he rumaged through. He found the ice pick purely by chance. Our bedroom, where he came with the intent to kill me, is upstairs. Attacking me seemed to be his only interest. 2. My car keys were on the nightstand beside my bed, easy to find. 3. I had just finished two weeks vacation acting as unpaid photo consultant to Oliver Stone who was filming in Dallas. Basically I was assisting Robert Groden, who was a paid consultant on "JFK". 4. Mack at that time was employed by Channel 5 Television in Fort Worth as booth announcer. The parking lot at Channel 5 is entered from Barnett Street. The back entrance is gated and locked most of the time, and is entered from Normandy, the next street to the south. Police found my abandoned car parked against the gate. It is highly unlikely that Mack had anything to do with the incident...but it was an extremely peculiar coincidence. 5. The naked intruder's only intent seemed to kill me. He had broken in downstairs, and there were several closets of clothes if he wanted to get dressed. There were numerous valuables downstairs, including all of my cameras. He passed up all these things to come upstairs and silently attack me. No motive was ever determined. Opinion is divided whether it was related to JFK research. Fletcher Prouty told me it appeared typical of an agency hit. Jack Edited July 15, 2006 by Jack White

Jack PS...I am NOW in my THIRD life, having just passed the first anniversary of an almost fatal heart attack. I am now doubly on borrowed time! Jack: Sure sounds case related to me. My good friend J Hrrison was also nearly killed. (in 96). And he was so deep- cover that no-one was permitted to say his last name ever, to anyone. In Dallas he'd go to the GK but no one could come near him who was a friend. The only conference he attended was when Judge Joe Brown was the key note speaker. (98) . And that was only because he'd been out DANCING with the Judge the night before. (I was worried sick....we had adjoining rooms at a motel 6 and he was supposed to meet Erick and I for dinner before the first key note speaker, Vince Salandria. He forgot and instead gave Joe the Dallas tour- then went dancing. (Which I learned the next morning when I woke him up). The next two days we all partied with the judge. What a guy!! ALso with all the COPA and Lancer speakers, got to meet so many heros!! Gaeton, Vince, (who has been a friend ever since) Marty Schotz., etc etc. It was an amazing conference: 35th anniversary. You, being so public all these years, were clearly onto something very big. Otherwise researchers do not die. My rule of thumb here is two- fold:( 1.) Onto something big and ( 2 )going public with it, leads to death, or in your case, a close brush with. . (Larry Howard, Dorothy Kilgallen, just two examples. of literally hundreds, if not thousands). When you posted that you are 80 I thought you must be joking. It now sounds like you were not. I'm impressed. My dear dear friend Nathan Darby was like that: sharp as a tack til his stroke at age 91, last August. His daughter-in-law called me Tuesday to tell me they got all the stuff I sent- (pictures of all the Tx connection crowd: J, Nathan, Barr, Richard Bartholomew, me, Blake (grandson of Kinsner)...alll my Nathan picures- on- paper- collages. And stuff he wrote to me, and me about him...they cried reading it. (And I cried putting it together). So happy 3rd birthday Keep at it and you shall never grow old. Dawn
