Great Stuff! Very interesting reading.

Also found the discussion of "counterfactuals" very informative. (I knew the subject, but not the name)

I have no clue how the Space Race would have turned out if JFK hadn’t been assassinated. Probably not much different, primarily because of how Khrushchev viewed JFK and he wouldn’t have taken JFK up on the joint exploration initiative. Also, the second article discusses how Vietnam influenced LBJ’s thinking on space. However, if JFK had lived, what would have been the course of events in Vietnam, and how would that affected his thinking on space? Or the Country’s’? (Ah, counterfactuals, they can be such fun!)
