Jewish Resistance in Eastern Europe

I'm currently doing my A-level history coursework on Jewish resistance to the Holocaust in Eastern Europe. Apart from having to use a uni library to get any historiography on the subject, I'm also struggling simply to define the term 'resistance' so that the mass of information doesn't overwhelm my 2500 word limit. ANy pointers, suggestions or just opinions would be greatly appreciated!!
