DT Online

Recommended Posts

DT Online is produced by the National Association of Advisers and Inspectors in Design and Technology, in cooperation with Dial Solutions, using materials provided by teachers for pupils. DT Online is free at the point of use and has three aspects: (1.) It is an online repository of information relating to most DT focus areas. (2.) For electronics and packaging, there are interactive designer sections that allow online production of circuits and packaging nets (3.) There is a developing projects section that also provides access to remote manufacturing centres in volunteer schools and colleges.

Hi John. Just to follow up on this post. DT Online is an excellent UK based resource. There is also a wealth of information there that can be used by design technology teachers from around the globe. Snippets of CAD/CAM, control, graphics, resistant materials, design method and so on. I would be interested to hear about other web based initiatives from colleagues that they have used - UK based or otherwise! :D Bye for now. David

Guest Andrew Moore

Please help yourself to the growing collections of images on our media library at:

www.eriding.net/media

See, for example:

www.eriding.net/media/structures.shtml

www.eriding.net/media/railways.shtml

You will also find images of old motor vehicles and Victorian bicycles, if you follow the relevant links.

I will be going with my Web designer colleague to the D and T show at the NEC on November 18th, armed with cameras - to collect lots more useful images.

All this stuff is free for anyone to use in any non-commercial way.

PS - Dartford's Web master is savvy enough to borrow the code for my silly sentence generator on the English pages. I'm pleased to see that it's found a new home there! And it's OK, since I actively encourage such borrowing. :P
