  1. Paul,

I'll let the book speak for itself at this point.

    Mr. Davy,

Were you aware that Dave Reitzes wrote a rebuttal to your response of his review (I don't know if that made sense, this back-and-forth thing is confusing). Do you have any intention of writing another response? Here is Dave's response.

If you do choose to respond to him, good luck trying to make him understand sense.

    Francesca,

There was a mechanic and a student pilot who ID'd Ferrie. Their names are not in the telegram. 2 other pilots are mentioned in the telegram as being connected to Ferrie and their names are given as Bernie Guthrie and Joe Truhill.

I believe I found the telegram in the Billings Papers at Georgetown University Library.

Thanks Francesca. As best as I can remember (and I haven't been in that area for about 10 years), Marydale Farm was right on the main road that leads to St. Francisville and west out to the river. So that probably was Route 10. I think I put everything I learned about Marydale Farm in the book, including the training of anti-Castro Cubans there, Shaw's visits there, the spotting of Lawrence Howard and Reeves Morgan being warned to forget what he saw there.

Thanks for the information, the story of the farm has always intrigued me and i have wanted to know more. I was wondering what happened to the farm after 1963 and if it is still there today. I think I may have come across it as I have found a place that seems the right size and is in the right place but am waiting to hear from a historian from the West Feliciana Historical Society to see if they know any more. Unfortunately being in London I can't go there and look it up myself.

As for Ferrie at White Rock, that comes from internal LIFE Magazine telegrams, specifically from Holland McCombs who was a LIFE bigwig at the time and a close friend of Clay Shaw's. He apparently found 2 individuals who remembered Ferrie being in Dallas shortly before the assassination. Of course, Ferrie denied ever being in Dallas during that time. Also, the report never made it into any of LIFE's articles - just Garrison/Mob smear stuff.

Do you happen to know the names of these individuals who saw Ferrie or if these telegrams are available to read anywhere?

    Thanks again

  2. Francesca,

Yes, Ferrie was connected to Belle Chasse. Check out pp. 30-31 of my book.

I found this very interesting memo on the Mary Ferrell site and talks about another training camp near New Orleans that came up in Garrison's investigation. I had not heard of it before. It says that 300 cubans were trained there and there was a list of who these people were at 'heaquarters' (presumably CIA) but at present appears to be lost.

The memo says that the camp was 'entirely agency controlled'.

The memo also mentions someone called 'Orlando Piedra', Archach Smith, 'Laborde' (presumably Lawrence?) and someone called 'Fowler'.

Interesting because it mentions that these trainees arrived at Moisant Airport in New Orleans which by a weird coincidence was where 'Clay Bertrand' signed the book in the VIP room.

Does anyone know anything more about this camp and whether Ferrie wa sconnected with it? He isn't mentioned in the memo but just wondered. Would be his kind of thing.

Oh and btw, the memo is from none other than D A Phillips.

    The full memo is here:

  3. Hello Mr Davy,

I wanted to say welcome to the forum, great to have you on here and thank you for agreeing to answer questions on your book.

I have been interested in finding out more about Marydale Farm in St Francisville, La, which you mention in your book. Do you know if it was located on Marydale Road, off of highway 10? Do you have any more information on what went on there?

Also I remember you saying in an interview you did on black op radio a while back that you knew of a mechanic who worked at white rock airport in Dallas and had seen David Ferrie there. Do you have any more details on that story?

    Many thanks
