Do socialists make the best football managers?

Some of the best football managers have been committed socialists: Bill Shankly, Jock Stein, Brian Clough, Peter Taylor, Alec Ferguson, etc. The best young manager in the Premiership, Paul Jewell, is also a socialist (he was a Trotskyist in his youth).

It is no surprise to me that socialists make the best football managers. They also make the best teachers. The reason is that they have a passionate desire to bring out the best in people. They realize that coaching/teaching is all about developing potential. Whereas conservatives have a negative view of the human condition. Authoritarian conservatives make the worst managers (and teachers) because they attempt to rely on old fashioned methods of coaching. Ferguson, Shankly and Clough were authoritarian but because they were socialists they were always searching for new strategies to use.
