Derek McMillan Posted December 18, 2006 Share Posted December 18, 2006 The dramatised account of the abdication on BBC 4 made it into a love story and a battle between the "People's King" and the stuffy old politicians who wouldn't let him marry the woman he loved. In a way the whole program was a cover-up because his unsavoury connection with the Nazis did not get a mention. A lie by omission if nothing else.
