  1. John, What do you think of this quote from Harley: Assassination researcher John Simkin has found evidence linking the beautiful Karyn Kupcinet to Nancy Carole Tyler -- and thus, to Bobby Baker's operation. Haven't you just speculated that Karyn could have been brought along to a Baker party or have a I missed the evidence noted in that sentence? The link that Harley provides there goes to Kathy's Witness 'blog which mentions only you trying to find connections.
  2. I hope it's an April Fool's Joke. The show wasn't even Kup's Show. Irv was being interviewed by another talk show host. In that segment, at least, Irv was the only guest. Kathy Has anyone found any definitive proof one way or the other regarding Hillary's supposed appearance on Kup's Show? At least one 'blogger who wrote a critique of the Harley article claims that the interview did take place: http://cannonfire.blogspot.com/2008/04/hil...assination.html Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated.
  3. For the record, I don't think Karyn's murder has any relevance to the JFK assassination, but some folks do, so that's why it is being discussed here. I don't think Karyn committed suicide, but some folks do, so that's why her personal life is being discussed, too. I think Ms. Mauro is mainly reacting to Kathy's tone, and that's fair. --Paul
  4. Unfortunately, Karyn's personal life becomes relevant to the debate about her death because Ellroy and others have suggested that she may have committed suicide. I don't know if what Kathy shared amounts to "character assassination." So Karyn "had issues"? Who doesn't? --Paul -- Paul Fecteau (paul@paulfecteau.com) Kari Kupcinet (kari@paulfecteau.com) homepage: http://paulfecteau.com/ mailing address: Department of English Washburn University 1700 S.W. 5. Kathy, Why let Kup live? Can anyone predict how a man will react if his daughter is killed--surely, there would be a risk he would go public with his knowledge? I think Waldron and Hartmann mention "Red" Dorfman in _Ultimate Sacrifice_, but does Kup turn up anywhere in their research or in others' work on the Chicago assassination attempt?
  6. Thank you so much. I am happy to have found my way here. All the posters strike me as knowledgeable and eloquent.
  7. I learned about this Forum by doing a Web search for “Shirley Martin” and appreciate all the information being shared. The mention given Ms. Martin in Thomas Mallon’s Mrs. Paine’s Garage fuels my interest. He quotes Ruth Paine as saying, “You have to understand, I think her life came apart . . . I believe her daughter was struck as a pedestrian and killed, and I think she saw it as part of the plot” (p. 125). Hopefully, Paine’s belief is plain wrong. At least, Teresa Smith is alive and well.
  8. Paul Fecteau teaches in the English Department at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and also serves as the Managing Editor for the Bob Woodley Memorial Press, a nonprofit publisher devoted to work by Kansas authors. In the summer of 2003, Fecteau became fascinated by a decades-old unsolved murder case that would ultimately compel his interest in creative nonfiction. The result was Never So Cold: Spectacle and Loss in Wichita's Infamous Butterworth Trial, a nonfiction novel about that case. He is currently preparing some articles about the Kennedy assassination for his Web site, http://www.washburn.edu/faculty/pfecteau/, which explains how he stumbled on the International Education Forum.
