  1. Shropshire Routes to Roots is a web and digitisation project funded by Advantage West Midlands and Shropshire County Council. The aim of the project is to digitise aspects of the local history collections held at Shropshire Archives and Oswestry Library and present them in a way that is useful to teachers. Themes covered so far are World Wars One and Two and Victorian Crime and Detection, a further package looking at the impact of Industrialisation is due in a week or so, with another three packages coming on-line in the next month or so. Do visit Shropshire Routes to Roots to see what we've done so far. All comments and feedback are welcomed!
  2. Hi, I am Helen Gibbons, the Project Leader of the Shropshire Routes to Roots web and digitisation project which is based at Shropshire Archives and Oswestry Library. Routes to Roots is producing on-line learning packages to be used by teachers in the classroom or as a background resource. Current features on the website include World Wars One and Two and Victorian Crime and Detection. Learning packages looking at the Impact of Industrialisation, Transport and Communication and the Changing Landscape will be available on-line in the coming months. Do log on and have a look at the website: Shropshire Routes to Roots. Any ideas and comments most welcomed! Before starting work on the Routes to Roots project in July, I was the Archive and Local History Researcher on the Secret Shropshire project also based at Shropshire Archives.
