The LEM is in both locations because both locations are the same. If the mountains are far enough away, and in this case they definitely are, then they will look the same or very approximately the same from different viewpoints. Anybody who has driven in a car can verify this phenomenon. As you look out a side window, the scenery close to you goes by very quickly while the much farther away features, be it mountains or a cityscape, will appear to move slower. To see this for yourself at anytime, pick a large landmark, mountain, building, radio antenna, etc., in the distance on a clear day. Miles away is good but even a few hundred yards will do. Look at the landmark and look at the scenery right in front of you. Now move laterally, not towards or away from the landmark, 20 feet. The landmark looks the same but the scenery that was in front of you is now completely different. Also the scenery that was directly in front of you before you can now see from a completely different angle. No mystery, just perspective.
