Man of the Match Against Spurs

Amazingly, Sky Sports gave Neill the man of the match award against Spurs. To be fair, Neill said he did not deserve the award. In my opinion, Neill deserved the wooden spoon. I was very unhappy about the way he gave the ball away in the Spurs’ half in the 29th minute and then trotted back leaving others to race back to stop the counter-attack. I was also unimpressed with Neil pulling the shirt of Defoe when he was clearly going nowhere.

The best player on the field was Carlton Cole. I thought he gave an immense performance. His first touch is excellent, he holds the ball up well, he is good in the air and is faster than most of the centre-backs he has to face. His shooting has improved although it is still probably the weakest part of his game. On current form, he is good enough to play for England.

Despite only playing in nine games Cole is equal top in assists in the Premier League this season. The striker has laid on six goals, the same as Cesc Fabregas.
