A companion database for namebase.org

Recommended Posts

As time goes on, it is my perception namebase.org, however useful it currently is, could be a perfect database if it would update the name section to ascend chronologically to 2010 instead of somewhat stuck around the mid 1990's. Although, I am sure financial considerations or a very valid reason exists for such a situation.

However, recently I discovered a website that should be of considerable help to those researchers who are particularly interested in genealogy, in relation to the Kennedy Assassination.

It is

http://www.nndb.com

As an example of the improvement it provides I will cite a name, not to infer any sinister connection to the assassination, but strictly as an example.

here is the namebase.org listing for U.S military veteran and Diplomat Julius C. Holmes

As mentioned earlier, the above name is cited strictly for informational purposes.

I also must mention, that an update to the Who Had The Nuclear Football on Nov. 22, 1963 went completely ignored.

I find it bizarre that a heretofore unknown document that showed the DEFCON levels on November 22, 1963, and who was involved in this area at the time of the assassination, could be considered as minutae.

Cheers

Unless your interested in "shadowy conspiracy groups," your attention could be focused on a more pertinent topic. But all, joking aside, nndb.com has a feature that is similar to namebase.org's old social diagram, (who connected to who.)

One can construct there own diagram.

See

http://mapper.nndb.com/

It might be of interest to give a URL for the Katherine Graham Funeral Party, they provide, it is a little more sophisticated than namebase.org's.

It is a shame the Namebase is not being updated. Its founder, Daniel Brandt, used to be a member of the Forum.
