John Simkin Posted November 4, 2010 Share Posted November 4, 2010 In 1917 William Orpen was commissioned to paint two British Flying Aces: Arthur Rhys-Davids and Reginald Hoidge. Within a few weeks, Rhys-Davids was killed in action.
