Biography: Natalie Sheppard

I graduated with an honours degree in Psychology and Sociology and worked for two years in organisations such as the NHS and the City Council. I then applied to take a PGCE in Social Science and Citizenship, which I finished in 2003. Since then I have worked as a humanties teacher, teaching Sociology, History and Citizenship in a large comprehensive school in East London.

I am currently Head of Sociology and History. I am also taking a masters degree in Social Justice and Education. In the New Year 2005, I will be beginning to collect data for my dissertation on the reasons why boys do not achieve their potential in school.
