Guest Mark Valenti
Secret Service Agent Mike Howard has an interesting place in history. He was in charge of JFK's security in Forth Worth the night before the shooting. After the shooting, he was in charge of hiding Marina, her kids and LHO's mother at a hotel. Later he was assigned to project Jackie, spending time with her in the post-shooting months. After LBJ was out of office, Mike Howard was placed on his security detail. When LBJ was in extreme medical distress, dying at his Texas ranch, he didn't call doctors, he didn't call his wife - he called Mike Howard. Beyond these details, Howard was witness to another moment in history. In the time frame when he was guarding Jackie, he was asked by Robert Kennedy to drive him to a secret meeting between RFK and Jimmy Hoffa. The two enemies met face to face, speaking privately, then parted. No implications - but it is fascinating that a key player has largely escaped public scrutiny for so long. Lately he has made some public presentations and does not seem shy about answering questions. ** Most of this info came from Debra Conway's post. He may be suspicious. The first time I ever heard the term SODIUM MORPHATE was from Mary Ferrell soon after LBJ died. Mary said that Howard was ALONE WITH LBJ when he died, and that LBJ had just eaten a slice of APPLE PIE. She said that sodium morphate was a poison that smelled like apple pie. Jack And once again it points out the absurdity that Howard and other Secret Service agents never testified - especially in light of how they *did* testify in the Clinton imbroglio.
