John Dolva
There have been mentions of the White Camelias. KKK. Hopefully by starting a topic on them and the people involved, that which is known can be gathered in one place for reference.

An accumulation of old Tulane University yearbooks would certainly be of some assistance. Hope that you made a copy of what was sent, they are rare, and one usually has to know someone to get it. John Dolva
John Dolva, on 15 Nov 2014 - 12:06 PM, said: Ernie, is there any mention in any of the files of the White Camellias? Are you referring to the group headed by George Deatherage which was called Knights of the White Camellia? Deatherage was a JBS member and he was a close friend of Tyler G. Kent, the U.S. State Department code clerk in London during World War II who was convicted of passing information to Nazi Germany. Kent settled in Florida after the war and published the Putnam County Weekly Sun in Satsuma FL. Kent was a financial contributor to Deatherage and I think Deatherage contributed columns to Kent's anti-semitic paper -- under the alias of George Calvert. Deatherage founded the Knights of the White Camellia in 1934 but it was defunct by 1936. He also was associated with prominent 1930's and 1940's anti-semites who founded the American Christian Nationalist Party. In 1960 Deatherage was "Regional Director" of America First in Satsuma FL.
