Paul Volker, former Fed Chairman, endorses the bold Barack.

March 27 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama called for an overhaul of rules governing banks and other financial institutions in the wake of a collapse in the subprime mortgage market....

Obama, 46, is offering a ``credible approach,'' former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, an Obama supporter who attended the speech, said in an interview. ``You can't solve this problem overnight, but you've got to have a thoughtful review of it and accept the logic that regulatory authority has to be extended and strengthened.''

And that is a god thing?

(btw he endorsed Obama back in January 2008)

Paul Adolph Volcker was a founding member of the Trilateral Commission. He is a Rockefeller family gofer. He is a Bilderberger and connected to the Rothschild-Wolfensohn banking dynasties -- and was also with the Hollinger Group and Power Corp of Canada -- all of which trigger alarm bells (or should do). Worse still, he was a member of the ultra right wing, fascist leaning Le Cercle/Pinay Cercle.

Imo, this is simply more evidence that Obama is a bought and paid for man who will be a pliable president for these elites. His ability in pubic speaking has doubtless been judged by these creatures of the night to be his most sale-able asset. But talking a good talk does not translate to walking a god walk.

Yes, that is a good thing for Obama because it adds a certain stature and substance to his image with the average voter (who, like myself, knows nothing about economics).

This week again Obama looks like the smarter politician. Hillary announced her economic plan on a Monday, when everyone was feeling pretty grotty (in many places, including Pennsylvania, the weather was miserable also). Obama does his on Thursday, when people are feeling much better. Coming into New York, supposedly Hillary's stronghold, to address the economy, was also a bold stroke, and of course the historic setting of the Cooper Union again shows that Obama has style. Then stealing New York's well-liked billionaire mayor from Hillary's backyard -- I really think this kid is going places.

OBAMA WEATHERS THE WRIGHT STORM, CLINTON FACES CREDIBILITY

PROBLEM

Pew research Center poll released 2 P.M March 27 (Pew uses a larger sample than most other polls).

However, the Wright controversy does not appear

to have undermined support for Obama’s candidacy. The

latest nationwide survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted

March 19-22 among 1,503 adults, finds that Obama maintains a 49% to 39% advantage over

Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, which is virtually unchanged from than the 49%

to 40% lead he held among Democrats in late February. Obama and Clinton continue to enjoy

slight advantages over John McCain in general election matchups among all registered voters.

Seems this poll was taken BEFORE the full extent of Hillary's fantasies about Bosnian snipers was known to the public.

Well, so long as we are not luxuriating in the pretence that he will be democratically representative, but is a a tart for the elite and bankers and financiers, that's fine.

Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey plans to endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president today in Pittsburgh, sending a message both to the state's primary voters and to undecided superdelegates who might decide the close race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The endorsement comes as something of a surprise. Casey, a deliberative and cautious politician, had been adamant about remaining neutral until after the April 22 primary. He had said he wanted to help unify the party after the intensifying fight between Obama and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Casey's decision was also personal, motivated in part by the enthusiasm his four daughters - Elyse, Caroline, Julia and Marena - have expressed for Obama, the source said. "He thinks we shouldn't be deaf to the voices of the next generation."

Official returns from the November 7th, 2006 election show that Bob Casey had 2,392,984 votes or 58.7% of the vote. His 708,206 vote margin of victory is the second highest ever against an incumbent Senator in all U.S. Senate elections since 1920.

Casey is the eldest son of the late Governor Robert P. Casey and his wife, Ellen.

The New York Times is impressed by Casey endorsement:

I believe in my heart that there is one person who’s uniquely qualified to lead us in that new direction and that is Barack Obama.” Mr. Casey said during a rally in Pittsburgh Friday.

“I really believe that in a time of danger around the world and in division here at home, Barack Obama can lead us, he can heal us, he can help rebuild America,” he said.

Mr. Casey is going against the grain in his state, where polls show Mrs. Clinton ahead by at least 12 percentage points and where she has the endorsement of most of the state’s major Democratic figures

Elsewhere today, Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont called on Hillary to step down, and rumors circulate that Hillary has money troubles, again.

Hillary was overheard saying "Thank God its Friday."

I Guess Hillary is finally admitting that Nancy Pelosi is one of the BIG BOYS.

Pelosi warned during an interview on ABC on Sunday, "If the votes of the superdelegates overturn what's happened in the elections, it would be harmful to the Democratic Party."

Friday, in short comments after her speech, she predicted a nominee will be chosen "right after the public has voted."

The Clinton fundraisers were outraged after her ABC comments, because Obama is expected to finish the primary season with a lead in pledged delegates. However, he will not have the 2,024 delegates needed to win the nomination without the support of superdelegates.

http://www.mercurynews.com/valley/ci_8739024

NANCY PELOSI SPEAKS: So here's the deal, Hillary:

1. The Speaker of the House says the candidate with most elected delegates gets the nomination.

2. There is NO WAY IN HELL that Hillary will end up with the most elected delegates based on the way the campaign has developed so far.

3. Obama has the most delegates now and he will have the most delegates when all the remaining primaries are over.

Therefore, Obama will be the Democratic nominee

So, why not GET SMART and recognise the writing on the wall?

Hillary's Nasty Pastorate

by Barbara Ehrenreich

The Nation

There's a reason Hillary Clinton has remained relatively silent during the flap over intemperate remarks by Barack Obama's former pastor, Jeremiah Wright. When it comes to unsavory religious affiliations, she's a lot more vulnerable than Obama.

You can find all about it in a widely under-read article in the September 2007 issue of Mother Jones, in which Kathryn Joyce and Jeff Sharlet reported that "through all of her years in Washington, Clinton has been an active participant in conservative Bible study and prayer circles that are part of a secretive Capitol Hill group known as "The "Fellowship," also known as The Family. But it won't be a secret much longer. Jeff Sharlet's shocking exposé The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power will be published in May.

Full story:

Hillary Clinton's Religion and Politics

Brzezinski and Huntington are a long way short of being my choice for democratic heroes.

During Brzezinski's tenor as Director of the Trilateral Commission, his closest political ally and chum, Samuel Huntington authored the 1975 Trilateral Commission report "The Crisis of Democracy", which called for democracy to be curbed in times of economic crisis. He also considered there should be "desirable limits" to the indefinite extension of political democracy.

Nice guy.

So we're to reject Obama because of who one of his advisers hung out with 30+ years ago? Can you document your claim that Huntington was Brzezinski’s " closest political ally and chum"?

When this is combined with Brzezinski's "The Grand Chessboard" - that propagated the extension US global hegemony - and Huntington's "The Clash of Civilizations", you have a charming bunch of fella's backing and advising Obama.
these people are elitist (even the elite) in their goals and appear to have baptised Obama as their elected catspaw for carrying their goals through to the next stage of fruition.

Have you read "The Grand Chessboard" or are you depending on someone else's interpretation? Please cite some of the objectionable passages. Is Huntington one of the "fella's backing and advising Obama" and "baptized" him ? Or are you using guilt by association?

St. Patricks Day 2008

The bold Barack was lavish in his praise of Pennsylvania's Casey family, in his St. Patrick's day address in Scranton. Then the easter bunny gives Obama a golden superdelegate and puts the Casey political machine is at his disposal.

Words can be powerful, if you say them to the right people in the right place at the right time. Especially if your listeners do not doubt the sincerity of what you say. It was a successful evening for Obama, the perfect warmup for a More Perfect Union in Philadelphia next morning.

It was a very different kind of St. Patrick's day for Hillary Rodham Clinton, with very different consequences, as Frank Rich describes in Sunday's New York TImes.
