(MMD Newswire) June 16, 2010 -- To Kill a President: Finally - an Ex-FBI Agent Rips Aside the Veil of Secrecy that Killed JFK by M. Wesley Swearingen seeks to uncover new information about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and identify the groups who conspired to kill him. According to Swearingen, Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone in assassinating Kennedy as was claimed by the FBI, the Warren Commission and other investigating bodies. Instead, he argues that rogue CIA agents acting in concert with the mafia and certain Cuban exiles plotted to kill Kennedy. Swearingen contends that the conspiracy was covered up by the FBI, an effort that continues to this day through the agency's unwillingness to disclose key details about the events surrounding Kennedy's death. "I want to set the record straight," Swearingen says. "The truth is my inspiration. Upholding the Constitution and exposing government corruption is my sole purpose." A 25-year veteran of FBI field work, Swearingen was employed by the bureau in 1963 when Kennedy was shot in Dallas. Citing internal sources and information not previously released to the public, Swearingen claims that Oswald was an FBI informant who was known to government officials prior to the assassination. He argues that the statements and actions of FBI and CIA personnel indicate a cover-up, one that he believes included CIA-trained Cuban exiles and American mobsters. "Names are named, associations are made, reasonable conjectures are served and Swearingen comes across as the real deal," explains a Kirkus Discoveries review. "He virtually dares readers to prove him wrong." Wesley Swearingen is a former FBI agent and the author of FBI Secrets: an Agent's Expose. A U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II, Swearingen later graduated from Ohio State University and joined the FBI while it was directed by J. Edgar Hoover. Following his retirement from the FBI in 1977, Swearingen was involved in several lawsuits against the bureau related to wrongful imprisonment and civil rights violations. A licensed private investigator, Swearingen has appeared in several documentary films about the FBI and earned the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice's President's Award. FBI SECRETS: An Agent's Expose' is about FBI corruption and wrongdoing. It is a veteran agent's firsthand story of how the FBI foreswore its duty to the Constitution by plotting assassinations in Chicago in 1969; convicting an innocent man in Los Angeles in 1972 for a murder he did not commit; and covering up a 1990 civil rights violation as a result of the bombing of an Earth-First activist's car. For years the FBI has lied to the Department of Justice, the U.S. Congress, and the Courts. The new explosive book, TO KILL A PRESIDENT, is about the CIA's conspiracy to assassinate President John F. Kennedy and the FBI's cover-up. One of the FBI's top informants in Chicago, trained a handful of selected Mob members and Anti-Castro exiles at a secret CIA camp in Florida on how to conduct a clean hit and blame it on a patsy. TO KILL A PRESIDENT is a must read for those who do not believe the Warren Commission Report. For those who do believe the Warren Commission they will get a new insight into the government that controls the news and their lives.

John,Bill, Greg, and All, I met Mr. Swearingen years ago at one of the Lancer November meetings in Dallas. He was seated next to Craig Roberts (author of The Kill Zone) with whom I also spoke. I told Mr. Swearingen of the difficulties I was having in obtaining responses to my Freedom of Information requests to the FBI. He told me he had been an FOIA officer in the FBI and understood my plight because a FOIA requester had to practically know the FBI's file number of the documents being asked for. Unfortunately, he could offer no helpful suggestions to me at that time, but he was quite sympathetic. If Mr. Swearingen does become a member, I would hope he could expound a bit on his experiences as an FOIA officer in the FBI. I am still seeking the records which should have been in the files of the FBI, the report by FBI Liaison Special Agent, Orrin Bartlett, of my interview of November 24, 1963, and those of the FBI agents of the Washington and Baltimore FBI offices who were ordered by Mr. Bartlett to "pick up Jose Rivera for interrogation." 3. Barb wrote on [age 188, Post #2817: Barb, Thank you for your kind comments. And I appreciate all the excellent studies you have done on the JFK assassination. My only source of information about the linear particle accelerator was from Ed Haslam when he was writing his first two versions of MARY, FERRIE, AND THE MONKEY VIRUS, which he published on his own. I had met Ed in 1993 at an ASK Conference where I spoke in public for the first time about my 1963 experiences. During the 1990s, we spoke or wrote to each other about things we knew in New Orleans. I had been at the Tulane University School of Medicine, Dept. of Psychiatry and Neurology, from 1954-1956, as a Postdoctoral Fellow of the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness (NINDB) of the NIH. I had three children born and returned to research, again as a Postdoc of NINDB, but at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, in the Department of Physiology in 1963. I didn't have much contact with people at the medical school at Tulane during those interim years, so if the accelerator was known about, I would probably not known about it for that reason. I don't know what the original purpose of it being in New Orleans was, but I understand other medical institutions had one. Dr. Mary Sherman was doing research on cancers and had an interest in the virus-caused cancers, and may have been interested in creating a vaccine against them. The day after her murder, she had been scheduled for a visit, I understood, to some children's clinic/ward where there were children with cancers of the bone. She was an orthopaedic surgeon. My husband who did his medical internship at the University of Chicago Medical chool and Hospital, had scrubbed in on one of her operations, an amputation. He was amazed at her strength and clinical knowledge. She later transferred to Tulane and the Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Clinics. Adele
  4. Barb, Jack, and others, I hope that everyone realizes that I am not overwhelmed or upset if some people do not believe what I say. I am a scientist, well-trained to deal with scientific issues with which I am familiar. Dr. Anton J. Carlson, called the "Father of American Physiologists" because he trained so many of them, always asked this relevant question of students for the factual basis for their statements or hypotheses. The question was, "What is the evidence?" That is ingrained in my thinking, even in ordinary life. What, why, how? And, who? When I ask a simple question of a person who speaks the same language as I do, I expect an understandable answer, a true answer. If someone tells me they were introduced to someone, then I assume names were used. I was told that she was introduced to Rivera by Dr. Alton Ochsner. If I am told his skin color was "white", and there were no other physical characteristics given, then the man, obviously, was not Rivera. Rivera's complexion was remarkably dark in color. It was darker than "olive-skinned" and much darker than "ecru" or light tan. Human skin color has so many variations, depending upon the amount of melanin in the skin, carotene, blood flow, and as every artist knows, the reflected light which plays upon the skin at any particular time. Exposure to the sunlight and genetic factors, as well as pathological factors, determine skin tones. Now, on to Barb's question concerning the e-mail letters attributed to me. Let me ask everyone if they have ever received an e-mail letter from someone else, either addressed directly to them, or copied to them, or forwarded to them, in their mail box, which contained all that routing information? I get an e-mail like that when I make an error in the e-mail address that I am sending to someone else, and Mail Daemon, as it's called by my server, kicks it back to me. Can anyone explain all that jargon on an ordinary e-mail? After that three-hour phone call, the next day I contacted someone who had previously been referred to me by Mary Ferrell whom she thought knew a great deal about the assassination. I asked him if he had ever heard or known about Judyth's story. I related what she had said and her request to me to support her story, which I could not possibly do, as I knew nothing more than what she had told me. She also had told me she would come to my home to show me her evidence. He replied that he had never heard of her or her story, and thought it might be a fantasy, some kind of hoax. He also advised not to speak to her or admit her into my home should she appear on my doorstep. This is one reason why I never would have written the "gushy" letter to her, with the "gigantic internet hug." I did write postcards and notes to all my friends informing them of the change of address from the street address to the post office box, but that had been four years prior to the date on this particular e-mail. I had sent one to Mary Ferrell because we had corresponded for many years by postal mail by then because I did not have a computer and was not online. Mary and I spoke often on the telephone, even after I did get a computer. I would not have had a need to tell Mary in 2000 that she should use my P.O. Box address. So, go figure.... Adele

Note added by Adele Edisen:: Jose Rivera is listed as having been present at the autopsy of the body of President Kennedy on Friday evening, November 22, 1963, at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. The NPRC list was compiled by Michael Ravnitzky. Bill Kelly told me in an e-mail that he had contacted Mr. Ravnitzky and asked about the note associated with Rivera's name. It was copied directly from the National Personnel Records Center Military listing. The NPRC is a U.S. government facility. Also listed was a Vault File Number (2308) for Rivera. Adele Edisen
  7. Jack, Should we all be surprised at this? Jim Garrison said Oswald had been "sheep-dipped." Adele
  8. I have some doubts about the compliance of Lyndon Johnson in the conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy. This is based on the writings of Kenneth P. O'Donnell and Dave Powers with Joe McCarthy (a freelance writer, not Senator Joseph McCarthy) in their book, Johnny, We Hardly Knew Ye and the book, The Thirty-First of March by Horace Busby, speechwriter for Lyndon Johnson and his confidant. The title refers to the date of the speech given by LBJ when he announced to the American people that he would not be a candidate in the 1968 election. An earlier version had been drafted by Busby in the fall of 1967, but was not delivered at that time. This speech had also been written by Horace Busby, and was delivered about two weeks after Robert Kennedy announced his own candidacy. (I consider the timing very significant and supportive of RFK's candidacy.) O'Donnell and Powers were very close to John Kennedy; Dave Powers was perhaps his closest male friend. When they asked JFk about the rumors (actually started by the head of the Republican National Committee) that Lyndon Johnson was to be excluded as Vice-Presidential candidate in the 1964 campaign, John Kennedy answered with a very strong denial and spoke highly of Lyndon Johnson to his close friends. Further, they describe how Lyndon Johnson was opposed to the visit to Dallas, if not all of Texas. We also are aware from other sources that Kennedy himself was not anxious to go to Texas, and may have been forced to go under political pressures. (?). Horace Busby describes how Lyndon Johnson and his entire staff tried to convince Kennedy and Kennedy's staff to not visit Dallas, mostly because of the extremist right-wing elements there, which had physically attacked Lyndon Johnson and Ladybird when they were campaigning there in the 1960 elections. The animosity between Robert Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson may have begun during the 1956 presidential campaign when Joseph Kennedy offered to provide him with lots of money for his presidential campaign, if he would select John Kennedy as his Vice-Presidential candidate at the Democratic Party Convention. Johnson refused the offer, being his own man, and not wanting to be used as a stepping stone for John Kennedy en route to the Presidency. Also, Johnson had had a serious heart attack in 1955 and was not in the best of spirits to run. This refusal angered Robert Kennedy because he interpreted this as an insult to his father and the entire Kennedy family. My reference for this is a biography of Lyndon Johnson written by Robert Dallek, the title of which I have forgotten. There probably are other sources besides Dallek's. Robert Kennedy's feelings of being insulted by Johnson's refusal to use the Kennedy money in 1956 may have played some role in RFK's attitudes during the 1960 campaign regarding Johnson as John Kennedy's pick for Vice-President. Later, in 1968 the difference in their attitudes toward the Vietnam War were quite obvious. After the assassination Lyndon Johnson had the responsibility of calming the population and reassuring them that the country was not in danger of annhilation by the Soviet Union. The first accusation (the CIA's and Military's version) was that Oswald was a Cuban/Soviet agent who was steeped in Marxist communism, This propaganda was repeatedly broadcast on radio and TV, undoubtedly to prepare us for war with the communist nations. We know that Johnson did not want a commission like the Warren Commission. Neither did J. Edgar Hoover, probably for his own selfish reasons. (Source: Dr. Donald Gibson's book, The Kennedy Assassination Cover-Up Revisited (or the previous edition without the word "revisited" in the title). Pressures applied from outside the government on LBJ apparent;y caused him to change his mind later in the week to announce the formation of the so-called Warren Commission on Friday, November 29, 1963. On Saturday, November 23rd, LBJ received the news from Hoover that the voice of the visitor to the Cuban and Russian embassies in Mexico City was not the voice of Lee Harvey Oswald. I think this is when Lyndon Johnson first began to suspect a vast conspiracy in the JFK assassination, and which he expressed to Walter Cronkite some years later. Johnson turned his foreign policy interests away from Cuba and even said of the CIA that "it was running a 'Murder, Inc.' in the Caribbean." It should be of some interest to note that Robert Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy asked a close friend of John Kennedy to go to Moscow and look up a KGB agent whom Robert Kennedy had grown to trust as an intermediary in the corresponce between JFK and Khruschev during the prelude to the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962. This friend was attending some cultural event in Moscow at the time. His report came back that the Russians conceived of the assassination as a right-wing plot. (My source is the book, One Hell of a Gamble.). Apparently RFK and Jackie did not trust any US intelligence sources. Adele
  9. Duplication and reproduction of the work, or even a part of the work, by Tom Wilson probably might not be a big problem, if the methods used are identical to those of Tom Wilson. That might be the problem because it is not always possible to have the identical conditions or equipment. I can think of some common variations in chemical reactions when repeated under very slightly different temperatures, air pressures, and other possible unknown variables. In biological experiments the large variability may be due to uncontrollable and unknown conditions found among living organisms. I wonder why some people cannot accept Wilson's metallurgical work. That was his only responsibility when he worked so many years for US Steel. Would a major corporation risk the quality of its steel products to an incompetent engineer using an unknown or undeveloped physical system? Maybe it might help if we look at another electromagnetic radiation, which is heat energy from a fire or from the infra-red radiation from sunlight (not the visible light from sunlight). If we leave a car outside in the summertime sun, the metal gets hot, does it not? How does that happen? Obviously, the infra-red radiation has to interact with the metal atoms. These atoms have to absorb the energy from the infra-red radiation in quanta amounts (quanta are packets of energy like the photons). If you touch the underside of a fender or hood metal, that will also be hot. How did the heat get to the underside of a sheet of metal? We have to find out what heat does to atoms and molecules. Atoms (and molecule) move all the time, except at Absolute Zero, we think. Gas atoms (neon), and gas molecules (two bonded oxygen atoms), can move from place to place because of the temperature of their environment ys above Absolute Zero. This type of movement is due to Translational Energy. It's the reason you can smell someone's cologne from across several feet of space in the room. The cologne molecules have traveled from there to the inside of your nose. Another thing atoms and molecules can do is vibrate and the frequency of vibration increases with the amount of heat energy absorbed. We call that Vibrational Energy. And finally, atoms and molecules can rotate. This increases with heat applied and is called Rotational Energy. The reason your car's fender doesn't fly away is that all of these movements are going in all different directions at the same time, so their effects are cancelled out and the fender stays there on the car. Gas molecules can move, being unrestricted by forces from other molecules, etc. The underside of the fender or hood is hot because the infre-red energy penetrates the metal and the energy from the near-surface atoms has been transferred from atom to atom below, changing their characteristics. Visible light is higher on the energy scale in the electromagnetic spectrum than the infra-red energy (heat). Infra-red means "below red" of the light spectrum which runs from violet to red. Imagine what light energy is doing to any material based on the interaction of infra-red energy and matter just described. Tom Wilson had an archive of different materials and textures to which he could refer in his photographic work. This principle is one of the Thermodynamic LAWS which states that matter-energy can neither be created anew or destroyed, but can only be changed in form. A LAW in Science is universal and is absolute in certainty, and is above a theory, which is above an hypothesis, in factual coverage and certitude. And yes, laws and theories and hypotheses in science can change. That is the history of science over the past centuries. But the challenging ideas must be based on fact and reason. As far as assassination talk is concerned, all the LNs and the CTs, strictly speaking, have been talking about various hypotheses, not yet to the level of certitude of theory. But, the some of the CTs are getting pretty close to theory right now. in my opinion. Adele
  10. Very well said, and I agree. I very much want to believe the major claims being made in this book (eyes being painted on to autopsy photographs; Moorman photo altered; Badgeman being real). And while the evidence for them is indeed intriguing, to me it would be much stronger if it could be reproduced in the manner Brian suggests. I sense doubt for doubt's sake. Few of Tom Wilson's 'claims' have not been 'claimed' by others - often many other researchers - using other methods. Second, his techniques were vetted and approved for use in US Courts as an expert witness. As said, all agree that future work on validating his methodology would be nice and is in the works. It is very complex, expensive and time consuming. For now, you will have to be satisfied without - only that the same basic science is used every day. Of course, if you are only doubting to create doubt you will continue to press your doubts. I'd suggest you do a little more of your own homework on photonics and on Tom Wilson [for example, the part of The Men Who Killed Kennedy that contains him], some of which has been referenced above and on other threads about him. When NASA or other scientists use this few, if any, call for independent reproducing of the experiments. I realize it is a controversial subject, but. I am also informed much on Tom's work by the reaction it has created in those entities that have fought, and all too much succeeded, in the cover-up since 11/22/63. I have alluded to some of that, but choose not to go into greater detail. In the fullness of time, I think his methodology will be found sound and many of his conclusions, as well. I was about to reply along similar lines as Peter did so elegantly. It would not necessarily give more "proof" or validity to the work that has already been done. Nor would it challenge the results obtained. The instrumentation is valid, the calculations are valid, and the work was done by a very competent engineer, using scientific methods. It would amount to mere repetition, with no new evidence being produced. If others choose to distrust the methodolgy, then it would be the responsibility of such persons to show and prove that the methods are invalid and the results and conclusions to be incorrect. This is done in science all the time if some error is detected in someone else's work. That is how scientists as a group can achieve the truth in their quests. Adele
  11. I'd have to agree. I am not yet finished with the book but so far I am finding the science behind it somewhat dubious. For one thing, Wilson appears to have not used any original photographs or negatives for his analysis ... he is using copies out of books and VHS tapes. Would be interested to hear further discussion about all of this. Completely wrong! ..... Further, I'm a scientist, and there is nothing wrong with his science or technique, in theory. I don't know where you got that he used photos out of books or tapes.....you ought to question that source of information....as they are either mis-informed or working hard at disinfo against Tom. Tom Wilson was meticulous to a fault! The book doesn't go into details on his technique nor meticulousness. I know it first-hand. It is meant as a book the general public can also understand and appreciate. He was approved to use his techniques as an expert witness in court cases! Further, U.S. Steel had him using his technique for steel quality control for many years until his retirement!...put that in your pipe and smoke it! Hi Jonathan, and Hi Peter, the problem is I`m not a scientist, and while I believe you Peter when you say you know Toms meticulousness first hand, that isn't the point. He didn't need to write the book for you; you already understand the process. I need to understand a bit more and like most lay people who don't have your expertise, I need a little more than faith in your word to go on. I am not questioning your integrity, simply pointing out that the public aren't going to appreciate his work without understanding the science behind it. I'm fully aware of the complexity of both his methodology and its perception by the average person. Why, however, do the 'average public' usually trust a trained person working for the government without 'further explanation', but not [usually] someone who comes to a scientific conclusions at odds with the 'powers that be'?! Actually, there is a project to make Wilson's methodology more accessible to the public - but it will not be manifest for quite some time yet. I'll try to find some references [though they will be technical! I did post one here on the Wilson tread long ago.] that are on the general scientific principles behind this. In its simplest form, realize that a computer/optical devices, etc. can see more of the spectrum, more detail and more differences in color or shades of gray than can the eye. It is not magic, it is science, and not a whole lot different than the photo enhancement techniques used by, say NASA of other scientists, and others at looking at objects less controversial. Those detailed databases [that were once photos] can then be manipulated by the computer in various ways, giving 2D and 3D, even layer-stripping views; though the details of how this is done is a tad complex. Another thing he did was to compile a huge self-made database of reflective properties of known substances [different substances of different colors and brightnesses, etc.] and put them into his computer to match against. This way he could have the computer identify a piece of metal, or wax, then the human eye could only see a color. In fact a 'medium gray' piece of metal reflects differently [to the computer - not the eye] than wood; flesh from morticians wax, et al. For those who have read this book and for those who have not, the following excerpt on page 12 (top) might be enlightening: "Some of Tom's industrial clients viewed this ability (to "see" through surface layers of steel - my insert - AE) as almost unbelievable, and certainly futuristic in nature. But Tom pointed out that he was only employing the same technology that the FBI and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory had been using for years. It was all based on photonics, the science and technology of the transmission, control, detection, and measurement of light." Photons, the little packets of light energy, do occupy space and can penetrate matter between the atoms or molecules which comprise it. Light may br totally absorbed and thereby reflect no light out, or some light may be reflected, or all the light may be relected. When all the light is absorbed, the material appears to be black. When some light is reflected, the material may appear grayish, and if only certain wavelengths of light are reflected, the material may appear red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or violet, or some mixture of hues in between. With no light absorbed, the material will look white to us. Tom Wilson's computers, cameras, and electronic measuring devices were capable of distinguishing 256 different shades of gray between black and white, which the human eye cannot distinguish, except for a few different shades. His system detected photons of light. 12. But Tom pointed out that he was snoky employing the same technology that the FBI and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory had been using for years. Tom Wilson's computers, cameras, and electronic measuriong devices were capable of distinguishing 256 different shades of gray between black and white, which the human eye cannot distinguish, except for a few different shades. His system measured photons of light. Visible light is only one form of electromagnetic radiation, which comprises gamma rays, X-rays, ultrviolet light (invisible to us), visible light, infra-red light (heat), microwaves, television waves, radio waaves, etc. All of these forms of electomagnetic radiation can be detected and measured with the proper instrumentation. They all travel with the same velocity which we commonly know as the speed of light. Adele

  14. As of today, July 24. there are 194 signatures on Bill's petition. The list has some impressive names on it. Today I sent 17 packets of letters and other documents to Chairman Towns and Chairman Clay, with copies to each member of the House Subcommittee on Information Policy, Census, NARA. The first ten names on my copy list, plus Chairman Clay, make up the Subcommittee members. Kucinich and Cuellar are on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Rodriguez is my representative and he has known of my story since February of this year. If anyone is interested in writing to the committee members, thier addresses are the same as those of Rep. Towns and Rep. Clay. Adele Copy of my letter to Towns and Clay follows: July 21, 2009 The Honorable Representative Edolphus Towns Chairman, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform 2157 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515 And The Honorable Representative William Lacy Clay Chairman, House Subcommittee On Information Policy, Census, and National Archives 2157 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515 Dear Representative Towns and Representative Clay: In 1963 I was a Postdoctoral Fellow of the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness (NINDB), performing neurophysiological research at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. I met Jose A. Rivera, a science administrator and member of the Training Grants and Awards Section of the NINDB, at week-long scientific meetings in April, 1963, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where I presented my work on the mechanisms of synaptic actions in the nervous system. Rivera invited me to have dinner with him and his family once I arrived at the NIH which I had planned to visit, but it turned out that he and I had dinner at restaurants and a sightseeing trip while he spoke of the President and his impending assassination. I am enclosing a narrative account of my experiences and attempts to bring these to the attention of government agencies and Congressional investigating committees with the help of Attorney Jack Peebles. I also have sought, through many Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, copies of documents of my interview with US Secret Service Agent John W. Rice and FBI Liaison Special Agent Orrin Bartlett, on Sunday, November 24, 1963, with no success. I also enclose copies of relevant pages from the Final Report of the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) where my name is mentioned; a summary of Rivera’s career based on his personnel file records written by Attorney Dave Robertson; and Xerox copies of photographs of Jose A. Rivera. - 2 - When I learned last year that Jose A. Rivera had been present at the autopsy of the President’s body at the Bethesda Naval Hospital on the evening of November 22, 1963, I posted my narrative on the internet. At my age I do not have much more time to wait to see that the American people would know that there was a conspiracy to kill the President, and that it had been planned long in advance, even before April of 1963. It has been 46 years and 3 months since I learned of the impending assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and in November it will be 46 years since his death. It seems to be an unusually extraordinary length of time to solve a murder case, and an extraordinary length of time for the American people to begin to learn how and why their President was killed. I am writing to you directly to urge you and your Committee and its Subcommittee to have open public hearings on oversight of the John F. Kennedy Assassination Collections Act of 1992 which required that every government agency produce their files of documents, films, recordings, etc., to be reviewed by the Assassination Records Review Board (ARRB) and then be placed into the JFK Collection at the National Archives II at College Park, Maryland. I only ask that this Congress and this Government provide the American people with honest answers to questions about the murder of our President John F. Kennedy. Please feel free to share this with other members of your committee. Thank you for your time and kind consideration in this matter. Yours truly, Adele E. U. Edisen, Ph.D. Mailing Address: P.O. To read and sign petition, go to: http://www.petitiononline.com/JFKACT/petition.html Adele ------------------------------------------------------------------ JFK ACT Oversight Hearings View Current Signatures - Sign the Petition To: U.S. Congress Congressional Oversight of JFK Act To: Rep. Edolphis Towns, Chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee and Rep. William Lacy Clay, Chairman of the Sub-committee on information policy, census and NARA and members of the relevant committee. In order to regain the public’s confidence in government, which has been in decline since November 1963, Congress passed the JFK Act of 1992, requiring the release of all government records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Since the last time Congress conducted a hearing on the JFK Act (June 4, 1997), neither the House Oversight Committee, nor the responsible subcommittee have held one hearing on this issue, despite the destruction of Secret Service documents, the loss of national security records and the continued withholding of records that have been ordered released to the public. It is imperative that Congress take some action to ensure that the law is enforced and the work mandated by the JFK Assassination Records Act is completed. Therefore, We, the undersigned citizens of the United States and the free world, do hereby request the House Oversight Committee do its duty and hold public oversight hearings on the JFK Act. Sincerely, The Undersigned
  16. Terry ascribed the following statement to President Lyndon B. Johnson: I believe this is what LBJ meant when he blurted out "we were running a damn Murder Inc. in the Carribean" LBJ was pointing his finger at Permindex. Terry, I am quite sure that LBJ was not referring to Permindex. He was actually talking about the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). I'm glad you mentioned Walter Sheridan. There seems to be some evidence that he also had some connections to the CIA. We know he worked mightily to destroy Jim Garrison's investigations, and tried to keep Robert Kennedy from knowing what Garrison was learning about the CIA's involvement in the JFK assassination. After Robert Kennedy's death, he went to work for Ted Kennedy. I know this because I had cause to speak with Sheridan as the result of my contacting Ted Kennedy and his office. We also know that Clay Shaw was a long-time CIA operator/agent/asset. Jack and Christopher, I think it most interesting that Robert Kennedy, upon learning of the shooting of Oswald by Jack Ruby, immediately called John McCone, Director of the CIA, and and asked him, "Did you kill my brother?" (meaning did the Agency murder his brother). He also had contact with one other person (identity unknown) in the CIA to whom he addressed this same question. Also, he and Jacqueline Kennedy sought out a good mutual friend, an artist who was leaving for the Soviet Union to attend some cultural event in Moscow, and asked him to speak to a KGB agent whom Robert Kennedy trusted when he had been in Washington at the Soviet Embassy before and during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, and who had been instrumental in conveying messages between Khrushchev and President Kennedy through Robert Kennedy. Jacqueline and Robert wanted to learn what the Soviets knew and thought about the conspiracy behind the assassination. The Soviet's answer was that it had been a right-wing domestic action. (Cited in JFK And The Unspeakable by James Douglass; Original Source: One Hell of a Gamble: Khrushchev, Castro, and Kennedy, 1958-1964: The Secret History of the Cuban Missile Crisis by Aleksandr Fursenko and Timothy J. Naftali 1997, later editions in paperback) Adele
  17. I have harbored the thought for many long years about the CIA's responsibility in the murder of John Kennedy. One of the three Freedom of Information letters I first wrote, when I learned of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) from my attorney, was to the Central Intelligence Agency to try to obtain information about Jose Rivera. Rivera had told me repeatedly and boastfully of his 'other job'; his 'other office' at Foggy Bottom in Washington. In 1963 the CIA offices were scattered in Foggy Bottom, and the agency moved to Langley, Virginia, in that year. My other two letters were sent to the headquarters of the FBI and the US Secret Service. Many military personnel were and are still recruited by the Agency, especially if they have some special skill or knowledge, such as biowarfare methods that are considered TOP SECRET. I did not know all this then, but it now makes perfect sense for Rivera to have been in on the plotting and execution of the assassination of John Kennedy. I would like to know who informed him, and invited him, to view the Autopsy at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, on November 22, 1963. Although a conclusion is not so much stated in his book, JFK and the Unspeakable, James Douglass gives plenty of evidence pointing to the CIA as being behind the assassination. John Newman gets specific by naming James Angleton as the mastermind and organizer of the assassination. I have no reason to doubt this could be true. I consider the CIA (or certain fragments of it) as the operational part of a much larger organization of people and institutions opposed to our democratic system and against anyone like John Kennedy who would act to further the goals and benefits of democracy to the people of the United States. We could name such a group a Secret Government or The Establishment for lack of better terms. Webster Griffin Tarpley, in his book, Obama, The Postmodern Coup, observes, on page 68, that the banking oligarchy was appalled by President Franklin D. Roosevelt acting as a real president as outlined in the U.S. Constitution. The bankers resolved to never have anyone elected to that office exercise the full powers of the presidency, so they worked to limit the number of terms anyone could serve in that position, and thereby weakened a president to a position similar to an outgoing 'lame-duck' president. Roosevelt had been elected to four terms before his death. When John Kennedy was elected, the oligarchy feared what he would do. They actually used the same words to describe him as they had Roosevelt - a traitor to his class, a socialist, a communist, and so on. Although the plot to assassinate President Kennedy was in the works, possibly even before he was actually elected in 1960, it was in June of 1963 when John Kennedy made two moves that I think provoked Wall Street and the cabal of bankers to finalize their plans. Kennedy spoke of peacemaking with the Soviet Union, AND, possibly most important of all, to strengthen the economy, he created a Presidential Executive Order, Number 11110, that would allow the US Treasury Department to print 4.3 billion dollars worth of US Government Notes in $2.00 and $5.00 denominations, interest-free to the Government and to the Taxpayer. Other aspects of this Executive Order also spelled the beginning of the end of the Federal Reserve System of privately owned banks which lend monies (called Federal Reserve Notes) to the US Government which the Government itself prints! The interest paid to the Federal Reserve private banks by the US Government comes primarily from the people who pay their yearly income taxes to the US Treasury. About 40 cents per dollar goes to this loan's interest paid by taxpayers. To the US bankers and their international banking colleagues, this was heresy and treason. John Kennedy would not have much longer to live or to be re-elected. The CIA first pushed, as a reason for the assassination, that Castro and the Soviets did it with the aid of "communist" Oswald. Then it became the "lone nut, Oswald." (which may have saved us from a war with Cuba and the Soviet Union). Then the Mafia did it, and then Lyndon B. Johnson, the former Vice-President did it. Vice-Presidents are favorite scapegoats whenever a president is assassinated because their 'benefit' is so obvious to the public. The CIA's versions were all ANYBODY-BUT-THE-CIA. Help for them came in part from the Warren (McCloy-Dulles) Commission, the FBI, the Secret Service, the State Department, the electronic and print news media, various individuals in the pay and control of the CIA (many 'working' for the Congressional investigative bodies over the years), or those acting as individuals in providing phony clues and testimonies by mistake or intent.as witnesses. President Kennedy's murder deserved the best of investigations. The American and world's peoples deserve Justice and Truth. In a few more years it will be 50 years since that tragedy; two generations of the world's population have cycled through these years. It's time we know the Truth.
  18. Hello Jack, I don't know how quite to answer your post regarding your comparisons. However, I truly appreciate your supportive statements. Thank you. I can contribute this. There is a book, written in 1976, 1977 by Donald Bain titled The Control of Candy Jones in which is described the hypnotic (plus drugs) control of Candy Jones from 1961 through 1975. She was used as a courier of information by the CIA between agents within the United States and from the US to those overseas in Taiwan. An alternate personality was created, "Arlene Grant", in her to do this work. Her husband, Long John Nebel, a nighttime radio talk host in New York, was able to discover this personality and identify her hypnotist, CIA Dr. Gilbert Jensen, in Oakland, California. I want to point out that this covered a number of years and required much effort and time by the hypnotist; it was not based on a one or two session meeting. To maintain such a narrative might require a long period of reinforcement with frequent meetings with the hypnotists, as in the case of Candy Jones. I merely present this as something which might support your hypothesis. There are other explanations, which I cannot go into at this time. Hypnotic suggestion is a very important area to explore, I think. Adele
  19. Hello, Jack, I feel as though I should say something in response to your post here, but am at a loss as to what kind of response I should make, especially with regard to your comparison between Judyth's story and my experiences. The hypothesis of implanted ideas via hypnosis is possible. The story of Candy Jones is one such example - from a book titled The Control of Candy Jones by Donald Bain, published in hardback and paperback in 1976 and 1977. Candy Jones had been a popular model in the 1940s and 1950s. After she married 'Long' John Nebel, a nighttime radio show host, he discovered that she had another personality called "Arlene". This had been induced by a CIA hypnotist, a Dr. Gilbert Jensen of Oakland, California. As "Arlene Grant" she began in 1961 acting as a courier of letters of information between various CIA agents within New York City and then to other cities within the United States. In 1965 she was given other assignments by Jensen to carry documents overseas to a Chinese businessman in Taiwan. Her overseas assignments lasted through 1975. Amnesia was induced by post-hypnotic suggestion and by the use of drugs. It takes a lot of time and effort by an expert to maintain such an individual, though. Dr. Colin Ross' book Bluebird contains a lot of material on the creation of alternate personalities for use in espionage, courier, and other duties. Bluebird was published in 2000 by Manitou Communications, Inc. He also has written on the website: www.WantToKnow.info, under the topic Mind Control. There are other possibilities which I shall not discuss here. Adele
  20. That's an interesting theory. It's possible that Tippit was shot by someone unrelated to the plot, and that would of course prevent Tippit from getting to the theater. But why would the plotters tell Oswald to shoot a designated cop, or any cop, at the theater? (Why would the plotters tell him to get caught by the cops in the first place? Wouldn't he find that odd?) Why would Oswald do it, ensuring that he would be gunned down by the other cops? It seems more likely that Oswald would not shoot anyone, whether told to or not, but would choose to live and make that phone call to Abt. It seems to have been the original idea of the conspirators, otherwise why would Gordon McLendon have announced the officer's death at the Texas Theater on his broadcast on Radio Station KLIF? Oswald (Harvey) was most likely lured to the thaeter - to meet his handler? there. Both Oswalds, I think, were there at the theater. One goes in without paying, goes up to the balcony, sneaks out the back door of the theater and is seen being put into a police car in the back alley and is driven away. The plotters wouldn't have needed to tell Oswald to shoot Tippit. If the plot had worked out as planned, it would have been easy for another policeman to shoot Tippit at the theater in the melee that would have ensued when Oswald was surrounded and captured. The proper revolver bullets/cartridges would have been used or planted as evidence to match Oswald's pistol. A mistake made at Tenth and Patton Streets was that automatic cartridges were left on the ground. Oswald was carrying a pistol, not an automatic. Not only would this make Oswald look like a vicious killer, but also allow another policeman to kill him for "killing a policeman", just as the crime committed at Tenth and Patton Streets was used. Some Dallas policemen were involved with the CIA. Adele
  21. Adele - please forgive me if you have already answered this question elsewhere, but was your conversation with Dr Sidney Harris in late 1962 the first occasion on which you had heard the name of Dr Jose Rivera? If so, do you have any idea why Rivera was personally involved in awarding you an NINDB Fellowship? Could Rivera, or key trusted colleagues of Rivera, have had any contact with you prior to your being awarded this Fellowship? I do have reasons for asking these questions. Thanks Jan Jan, This is now my third attempt to answer your questions. Somehow, and I don't understand how I have done it, but my almost completed reply suddenly disappears! I am starting now to save it to File as I go along. Please bear with me. I do wish to thank you for your kind words in your earlier post. I want to comment and add to the psych material later (if I ever get this computer to behave). Your first question: Yes. when Dr. Harris told me that I had been given the Fellowship award, it was the first time I had ever heard of Jose Rivera. That was in late November or early December 1962 When I applied for the Fellowship, I proposed to continue my investigations on synaptic excitation and inhibition of the monosynaptic reflexes of the mammalian spinal cord. This was my doctoral thesis work, completed in 1954, and continued with the support of two years of NIH Fellowships from the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Blindness (NINDB) in 1954-1956. My doctoral work included two hypotheses on the mechanism of synaptic excitation and on the mechanism of direct synaptic inhibition. The thesis work was published in the 1956 issue of the American Journal of Physiology. The subsequent studies were published also in the American Journal of Physiology in 1957. During the intervening years until this Third-Year Fellowship I had gave birth to my children. I think an application such as mine would have been given to NIH intramural and/or extramural scientists familiar with neurophysiology for evaluation. Members of the Training Grants and Awards Section were not necessarily able to evaluate such work; Rivera was a bacteriologist by training and education. He had failed to pass physiology courses in his second year of medical school in Washington, and he didn't seem to know much about the nervous system from what I could gather in conversation with him about my work and interests. Furthermore, I think the Training Grants and Awards Section was primarily an administrative committee which provided information and funds to the award recipient's institution. Their job was not to make evaluations of the quality of research, but to carry out the needed functions for the institution and the recipient. This is my understanding of the situation. I can't think of anyone who would have known Rivera before my award, except Dr. Fred Brazda, Chairman of the Biochemistry Department at LSU. His department was across the hall from the Physiology Department, and I became acquainted with him when we'd meet at the water fountain in the hallway. I think Dr. Harris introduced us. Dr. Brazda knew I had graduated from the University of Chicago and he often asked me about the university because he wanted send his son there to the Collage. He never mentioned Rivera to me, but he might have known him from the time that Rivera was at Loyola University in New Orleans (1959-1961?) through local scientific meetings, or whatever. Rivera mentioned Dr. Brazda's name to me in April of 1963, along with some other names, some of whom I only knew by name or very brief encounters. Adele
  22. The part about Oswald's best friend above did not appear in the story that appeared in Bill's article in the Fourth Decade in November 1999. See link at http://www.maryferrell.org/mffweb/archive/...amp;relPageId=9 at page 11. That's also how it appears at http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKrivera.htm. Edisen remembers Rivera then being "agitated and excited. He began talking strangely about 'it' happening" and drew a diagram on a napkin, almost incoherent and very agitated. "It will be on the fifth floor, there'll be some men up there," he said. Edisen quoted Rivera as saying nonsensical things like, "Oswald was not what he seems. We're going to send him to the library to read about great assassinations in history. After it's over, he'll call Abt to defend him. After it happens, the President's best friend will commit suicide. He'll jump out of a window because of his grief... It will happened after the Shriners' Circus comes to New Orleans. After it's over, the men will be out of the country. Remember, the first time it happens won't be real." Linda, I appreciate your references to the Nix film, Orville Nix interviews, and I thank you so much for this material which I have not seen before. The question that was posed by Ron and yourself concerning John Abt, the New York attorney who defended people accused of being communists and 'fellow travelers' is an easy one to answer. As I had pointed out, Oswald was supposed to be a communist-oriented Marxist who went to the Soviet Union as a supposed defector from the United States, but he really was working for the CIA, Naval Intelligence and so on. He was, as Jim Garrison pointed out, being "sheep-dipped", made to appear to be a pro-Castro, pro-communist who could be used as the patsy to cover up a right-wing conspiracy to assassinate the US President. It was an act. As part of this act he was to call an attorney upon his arrest who defended communists and those accused of being communists under the Smith-McCarren Act, which had made belonging to the Communist Party a crime. Until this act was passed, the Communist Party was a legitimate political party with presidential and lower level candidates running for various political offices. It is ironic that, according to Drew Pearson, (a colleague of Jack Anderson, the political columnist), Joseph McCarthy, the rabid anti-communist senator from Wisconsin, in the beginning of his political career, ran on a platform almost identical to that of the then legitimate Communist Party and was elected to a minor political position. This is from Drew Pearson's biography of Joseph McCarthy. As you may know, many labor leaders, civil rights workers, motion picture stars, screen writers, directors, playwrights, university professors. federal employees, even General George C. Marshall of the US Army, were accused and attacked by Joseph McCarthy and his two legal colleagues of being traitors and "fellow travelers and communists". People in the 1950s had to sign "loyalty oaths" disavowing any belief or interest in communism to keep their jobs. That Cold War climate persisted beyond the 1950s into the 1960s and on. Cuba was a threat, and some elements in the military and the CIA were itching to invade Cuba, even though it was no threat to the US. A 'false flag' operation was created so that an excuse could be made to iinvade Cuba. President John Kennedy was preventing all this, and for several other reasons, he had to be eliminated. So Oswald and his pro-Russian stance was necessary, as was his call to John Abt, if it came to that. As for the 'best friend' scenario, be aware that there were two, maybe even more, Oswalds. There was 'Harvey' Oswald, as John Armstrong designated one of the the two significant ones. Harvey was the shorter one, 5'8-9" tall who spoke fluent Russian, enough to fool Marina. The other was 'Lee" Oswald who was 5'11" tall and who resembled the other Oswald quite a bit. It was Harvey who was killed by Jack Ruby. It's doubtful that 'Harvey' Knew Jack Ruby, but some people did see an Oswald look-alike at the Carousel Club. Beverly Oliver claimed she was introduced to someone named Lee Harvey Oswald by Jack Ruby at his Carousel Club, for example. Perhaps the original plan called for someone else to shoot Oswald, but the plan didn't have a designated shooter at the time. Anyone could have killed him, as at the Texas Theater where the police captured Harvey Oswald. The 'friendship' matter would be added on later. Actually. it seems the plan was to have Oswald shoot Tippit at the Texas Theater, Gordon McLendon (one of Jack Ruby's six closest of friends, according to Ruby) who owned Radio Station KLIF in Dallas, broadcast that as havind occured at the Texas Theater. I have four friends who heard the radio broadcasts that afternoon and always thought that Officer Tippit died at the Texas Theater. Two of these friends have since died, but the other two are still alive. I took one friend with me to Dallas for the November meetings of Lancer and COPA in 2001. We took the bus tour offered by Lancer to the significant sites related to the assassination. When we came to Tenth and Patton Streets where Officer Tippitt had been killed, she was shocked and told me she always thought he had been killed at the Theater. That was the plan, that Oswald would be approached by Tippit; he would kill Tippit (or someone else would do it for him) and then one of the policemen would kill Oswald. However, something went awry, and McLendon's premature broadcast on Station KLIF was carried to other radio stations throughout the US. McLendon was CIA - the Far Eastern Division, and I believe, very much a part of the planning of the entire operation. Audio recordings of KLIF broadcasts may be found on the internet. I first heard this re-broadcast on the internet of Radio Station KRLD's commemorative broadcast on the 35h anniversary of the assassination. It may still be on the internet. The plotters covered all contingencies. If Oswald lived long enough he would need a lawyer. A defender of communists was necessary to keep up the story (legend) of Oswald as a Marxist, and a friend of Castro, etc... Someone had told him to call Abt, and he just followed orders. In 1976 I wrote a narrative for my attorney, Mr. Jack Peebles, for safekeeping ion the event something untoward might happen to me. I wanted a written record since my Freedom of Information Act requests were not producing any records of my interview with the US Secret Service and FBI. A copy was also given to my physician at the time. The 'best friend' of Oswald statement is in there. I did not write any of the references that were cited in this thread. Bill Kelly wrote one of the references you gave, and I think John Simkin wrote the other one. Linda and Ron and Peter, I appreciate your comments and questions. I hope I have given you a satisfactory answer for your concerns. Adele
  23. Peter, I'll answer this one question right now. I'll get back to the others later. The very first time I saw the Nix film (Nix 2 because he had taken earlier pictures before the one which included the Grassy Knoll), the top of the Grassy Knoll was not visible in it. Just the lower parts of the frames were shown in which the presidential limousine was obvious. Some years later, I happened upon another version of the Nix film in which the full frames were seen, and next to the pergola, between the wooden stockade fence and the low concrete wall was this vehicle in plain view. It remains there throughout the entire length of the film. You Tube may have a video of the Nix 2 film. Try a Google search. When I first visited Dealey Plaza in 1991, I walked all around the pergola and the Grassy Knoll and came around the pergola from the back and went toward the steps leading to Elm Street. I remember thinking that the space between the pergola and the wooden stockade fence was wide enough that I could have driven my former 1969 Pontiac wide-track station wagon through there, with plenty of room to spare. It was the widest car then manufactured. Jean Hill and one other witness on the north side of Elm Street, a US Marine veteran, gave testimony that they had seen the Honest Joe wagon with card-board covered windows driving around Dealey Plaza for advertising purposes before the arrival of the presidential motorcade. I believe the Marine veteran gave his testimony to the the Dallas Police - he was not called before the Warren Commission, and I don't remember his name right now. The Dallas police apparently gave Honest Joe permission to drive behind the pergola, but they waved away other cars from going there from the little spur from Elm Street at the corner in front of the Texas Schoolbook Depository Building. Honest Joe's wagon was an Edsel station wagon. It was reported to have a mock machine gun mounted on the roof, and "Honest Joe's Pawnshop" was painted on its sides. In the Nix film the vehicle is visible all through the seven seconds or so of the film, during the frontal head shot to the President, Jackie's climb on the trunk of the car, Clint Hill's run and climb onto the trunk of the limousine, and the acceleration of the car onto the underpass. Orville Nix was a heating and air conditioning maintenance worker who worked in the building occupied by the US Secret Service in Dallas. He was very well known to Forrest Sorrels. In fact, Sorrels helped him get his film accepted by the FBI as evidence, which they had initially rejected. (Wonder why?) I think the blocking of the Nix frames in the early version of the Nix film that I first saw was an attempt to cover up the participation of Honest Joe, Rubin Goldstein, and/or his car. According to Beverly Oliver, she said she ran up to the Grassy Knoll after the shooting and saw "Geneva White's husband there." He was dressed in a dark shirt, no hat, policeman's trousers. and with no gun - pistol. That would be Roscoe White who had been recently hired by the Dallas Police Department as a photographer and clerk. He was not yet a policeman, but was in training to become one, and did in 1964. He had no legal right to wear a police uniform, but his getup very much resembled a policeman's uniform. He could have obtained his costume from Honest Joe who bought used uniforms from policemen who were retiring or quitting. Roscoe White, a former Marine, was an expert gunman and is known to have practiced shooting, according to his son, Ricky. It is believed that he was also connected to the CIA, and his proximity to the location of the Honest Joe wagon on the Grassy Knoll is mighty suspicious. Of course, the gunman on the running board of the wagon could have been someone else, hiding in plain sight. And there were others, such as the gunman in a business suit seen by Ed Hoffman behind the wooden stockade fence. More shots were heard even after the fatal head shot, according to some witnesses. The Bell film also shows a glimpse of this vehicle on the Grassy Knoll. Someone may have pictures of the Honest Joe wagon by itself. The Edsel station wagons were also used as ambulances; they were that roomy. Adele
  24. Bill, I am not yet used to the ways of this Forum right now, so please bear with me. I am not sure about your hypothesis that Rivera's attempt to make me call Oswald and tell him to "kill the chief" was any "test" of John Rice of the Secret Service, nor of Orrin Bartlett of the FBI. Please think of the cover story that was first proposed on radio and in the press that Oswald was a communist from Russia and friend of Castro. Castro was supposed to have been behind the assassination from the beginning. Oswald was part of some left-wing, communist plot. This was the earliest news we had. This was broadcast that very same afternoon. That was what I heard on the radio at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine laboratory when we all listened to the radio news. It was supposed to be a conspiracy, but a left-wing one, involving Castro and hence, the Soviets. I think I was selected to call Oswald, not necessarily because I was supposed to be a who was left-winger, but because I lived in New Orleans. My political orientation had nothing to do with the fact that I was asked to call Oswald to supposedly tell him to :"kill the chief". In those days of misogyny and anti-feminism, any professional "uppity" woman could have been labeled left-wing, or worse, in the South, or by a Latino "macho" man, which Rivera apparently thought he was. This man was not the brightest of people, I can tell you. Just think of what would have happened if I had given Oswald Rivera's message and not called the Secret Service or FBI at all. I could have been labeled part of Oswald's and Castro's conspiracy plot against the United States. I think this was on the mind of John Rice and Orrin Bartlett at first. However, the fact that I had tried to reach them in July indicated that I was not a conspirator. Also consider the fact that Rivera realized I was not totally under his hypnotic control. Not only did he threaten me and my family to keep me from going to the authorities, but he tried to murder me. In September of 1963, shortly after Labor Day, he saw me at the LSU School of Medicine talking in the hallway with the neurologist, Dr. Gregory Ferris, and he looked as if he had seen a ghost. He had not expected to see me there. That is when I knew he had tried to kill me in April of 1963. Every animal species tested has an LD-50 level. LD-50 refers to the dosage level of any drug which kills 50% of the test animals. LSD has been tested for this toxicity in fish, amphibian, reptilian, and mammalian species, including apes, but not humans. An elephant was killed by using LSD. and that is cited in the literature. In February of 1992 I tracked down Orrin Bartlett at his home in Pennsylvania. He had retired from the FBI many years before. I wanted to find out if he had placed a report of my interview with him and John Rice of the Secret Service. What surprised and stunned me was that he kept saying to me, "I'm so glad you called me." He said that about four times. I was so surprised at this that I forgot to ask him about his report. I thought he was glad to know that I was still alive. The FBI very quickly took over the investigation of the assassination. The Secret Service was told to stay out it. This may be why Rice is not well known. I thin he was an honest man, and I think Orrin Bartlett was also. They just had to follow orders from above. It was during this time of my interview that J Edgar and Katzenbach made their views known. If you look at Forrest Sorrels account (Warren Commission and elsewhere), the SS Agent-in-Charge of the Dallas office, he did a lot of investigating on his own, especially with regard to "Honest Joe", the pawnshop owner and good friend of Jack Ruby. Honest Joe's station wagon with cardboard-covered windows and name of his pawnshop may be seen in the Nix film, the Bell film, and some others, next to the cement fence extended toward Elm Street from the pergola on top of the Grassy Knoll. Someone I know has a blowup from a still picture from the Nix film which shows a shooter standing on the running board, in a perfect position to make the initial throat wound or the head shot to the President. He is holding a long-barreled pistol or a Remington Fireball weapon with a pistol-type grip. I urge anyone to look into this matter. Forrest Sorrels was most interested in "Honest Joe", it seems. If I recall, "Honest Joe" was Rubin Silverstein, also called "Ruby.".
