  1. I love the part of the interview where Veciana says that Phillips knew Oswald would not succeed in getting a visa to Cuba. So that puts the Kabosh on the idea that Oswald was part of a real Castro assassination squad. The reason I thought of Joannides is that the DRE was, assuming the street incident in NO was staged, in some way on the same team as Oswald. I had assumed for some time that CIA and FBI were trying to smear the FPCC, and that Phillips was involved, or even running this propaganda effort.
  2. James DiEugenio - there's a question for you posted by me on the thread called 'yes, Oswald was an intelligence agent'.
  3. Question for Jim DiEugenio - you were at the historic Veciana appearance. Was he ever asked whether he knew David Sanchez Morales, or Joannides, two operational CIA officers whose paths he might have crossed?
  4. Great article, important historical perspective, inside proof of the malfeasance of the liberal press, regardless of stated reasons.
  5. Thanks Chris. I watched the whole thing. Has anyone asked him whether he interacted with David 'Morales, or with Joannides?
  6. Craig - I gather you don't think Oswald ever met with David Atlee Phillips? Or that the guy with the scar over his left eye, seen with Oswald at the Carousel and possibly in New Orleans wasn't Phillips man - david Morales?
  7. It was LBJ's idea to replace Whitten with Angleton? Nonsense - it was Angleton himself.
  8. I'm sure that's why in the CIA's investigation Whitten, who was asking too many questions about MC and Miami, was replaced by Angleton. Must have been Hoover's idea.
  9. In the wiki leaks emails relating to John Podesta I cannot find any where he writes, just where he receives emails about ETI. Douglas - can you?
  10. I think they could look similar if they put a little effort into it. But I have a hard time with the Marina story getting them confused in her Russian memories. Is there supporting evidence for Webster's claim that he met Marina, other than Marina saying she thought her husband worked for the Rand Corp when he came to Russia?
  11. Craig - how would you apply the article to Oswald and the CIA?
  12. Craig - how would you apply the article to Oswald and the CIA?
  13. I have to say I think this whole line of inquiry, or attack, is propaganda. Gorbachev has made some public comments recently about how dangerous the situation between Russia and the U.S. has become. I agree. Since most of us here have read Jfk's correspondence with Krushchev, or at least read about it, imagine what President Kennedy would do now. The Dems have nothing peaceful to say, and Trump at least has one thing right - that our common enemy is Isis. Well, you might start to think that Isis isn't really our enemy, unless we need one during any given news cycle. Maybe it's our creation. I'm pretty sure from all I've read that we helped create the Syrian opposition which Assad and the Russians are currently bombing. Here is another thing to ponder: where the hell is the CIA? Whatever they are doing, we don't know about it for the most part. I think Americans are being fooled by the lack of news into thinking its some kind of irrelevant historical dinosaur. I'm sure it's not. So when it comes to wikileaks, Russian spies, unwitting agents, I think a healthy dose of skepticism is called for. Gorbachev suggests the biggest mistake was the US pulling out of talks with Russia. Can't either side demonize the other without too much difficulty? Isn't this the same old divide and conquer, strategy of tension, mechanism of control of money and both human and natural resources that the 'power elites' on both sides have been using forever?
  14. Later Talbot clarifies Dulles's firing, but I think he was 'allowed' to resign officially. Good interview by one of the only good journalists left, and probably the only one that' does an in depth news hour 5 days a week.
  15. Kostikov - trying to tie 'Oswald to Kostikov, because of the apparent misconception that he was head of KGB assassination unit. All sounds so scary but the story eventually unraveled. So do you think there were no pics of Oswald because the camera wasn't working, or there were pics but it wasn't Oswald, or they were Oswald accompanied by someone covert, like Morales? It was the lack of a photo of Oswald in the record that caused such careful scrutiny. How many decades did it take before someone figured out the impersonation? It looks stupid now, but it worked for a long time.
  16. Thomas - that is a very good and concise outline of the Mexico City impersonations and the 'marked card' response supposedly to trick someone into giving up their identity. How exactly is that supposed to work? In order to create this 'trap', Oswald's files had to be segregated, which they already had been, when, as you point out Thomas, 3 years earlier Oswald had been part of a similar mole hunt marked card. It seems that Angleton was responsible for both diversions, and somehow that's supposed to prove, in the MC instance, that he didn't know what was going on. I don't believe it. In order for this to work as a theory, we have to believe that there are no pictures of Oswald in MC. If there were real pictures, seen presumably by Phillips or ...., it would be natural for those pictures to be shown to Angleton, Helms, someone upstairs. How many of you actually believe there are not, and never were, pictures of Oswald in MC? I don't. So why haven't we seen them? And who decided to hide them? The thing is, the marked card, the segregated files where one might be all true, one part true, one misleading, slightly altered etc, benefit the covert operators and help keep the secrets. So their explanations don't ring true to me as to why their files were so carefully and cleverly organized. Clearly whoever did that, and I believe it was Angleton, was running operations and wanted total control of the facts and as much visibility as possible to be able to see compromised operations early. They didn't need to do something special to spot a compromised operation. They already had spotted it, and it was one of their own. They closed ranks and created what I think was a false myth - that they didn't know what was happening, that they lost control. That's why Phillips wrote that last book - not to confess or somehow lessen his guilt, but to mislead, and be part of this limited hangout.
  17. After reading McBride's book I tried to piece together a time line for Tippett, in order to see if his whereabouts at 12:30 pm were known and reliable. I came to the conclusion they weren't. There is a story of course, of Tippett getting called to the scene of a petty theft in order to take custody of the thief, which he did. But there is no actual record of this. The story as I just told it came a decade after the fact, a belated alibi, which I think was made necessary by the lack of a police report showing that Tippett brought such a suspect into a police station anywhere. 15 minutes after the assassination he is spotted reliably by multiple witnesses, parked at a gas station a short distance (1-2 miles I think) from Dealey Plaza, where he proceeds to behave very erratically in the last 20-25 minutes of his life. McBride as you know discovered that Tippett was 'a good shot'.
  18. Nice to hear from you Mr. Knight. I started this post and I'm glad it's had some longevity. I've asked a few times, and will again now, what people here think Ruby had in mind when he told Earl Warren he had a story to tell that necessitated being moved out of Dallas. Of course I've seen all the suggestive tidbits where Ruby mentions some people like Walker and groups like JBS and Minutemen (please Paul T., don't use this as an opening) or implies LBJ or other higher-ups were involved. I know Paul T.'s story, and hope that others have their own ideas and are willing to post them, and that Trejo will let this process play out. As an example, I've been exploring the idea that Ruby murdered Tippett. I know it's a long shot and the timing is off, assuming the alibis from the Dallas Morning News headquarters are good. I wonder like others have, whether the magic bullet was placed by him on the stretcher. I accept Kantor's memory as accurate, that Ruby was at Parkland by about 1:30 pm. I should post 'who was JD Tippett' since I think his death is very suggestive of his prior involvement. Trejo's idea that Ruby was motivated to kill LHO by Dallas cops, who played on Ruby's sympathy with police, is one I had not heard before. Half of that idea, that it was some Dallas policemen that facilitated, and perhaps 'encouraged' Ruby to kill Oswald, I find interesting. That it was simply Ruby's anger at Oswald the cop killer that motivated him I find laughable. (refrain yourself Paul T.)
  19. Malcolm - that article was not familiar to me, and given all I've previously read on the subject I think it was very weak. The question that should have been asked but never was, at least in the version you posted (which might have been cut down by editors) is who were the 'Red Brigades' that kidnapped Moro? The U.S. consular official in the article was no player here, just an observer and someone sent to smooth over any problems they could.
  20. I know that story, and agree it is really interesting, so thanks for posting it.
  21. Yes you have made your point. Many times. Simpich would tell you himself that his writings are opinions based in facts as far as he can ascertain them, not facts themselves. He has done valuable research for sure.
  22. Chris - any chance you recall which senators?
  23. No doubt you are right Chris. Nothing is so simple...
  24. Something else entirely. Interesting Douglas. The film explores deep links between Ialian fascists and our CIA. I think it's amusing that we never link this info to the CIA mafia links. I recall reading in depth looks at Gladio, P2, Gelli, etc, and noting that Andreotti, named as a principle in this film, was mafia all the way. There is really no distinction in my mind when looking at Italian post war history, between mob and government and fascisti. We know that because the Italian judicial system has, at great cost to life and liberty, uncovered these deeper links. However, here in the good old USA, these links have been much harder to prove and much less well known. The Itslian courts proved that terrorist acts were being committed by fascists masquerading as communists, in what was called the 'strategy of tension'. False flag events were designed to create distrust of the left generally and communists in particular, in order to influence the vote and soften the populace.
