    Hi Sandy

Thanks for finding that. I hadn't seen anything mentioned about Shelley having children but the lead on William B. Shelley seems very probable. He is listed as being related to a Maggie Shelley, and that was the name of our Shelley's wife. He is also listed as being related to a "Shell William" which could very well be a misprint of William Shelley.

I will, in my most tactful and diplomatic prose, dispatch a letter to him and politely enquire if he is the son of Willliam Shelley of JFK fame.

Do you have much experience with firearms? It does not explain the shallow back wound at all. In fact, the shallow back wound is one of the most well perpetuated myths of the entire assassination.

  3. "..... and we also realized that this bullet - that hit him in the back - is what we called in the military a "short shot," which means that the powder in the bullet was defective so it didn't have the power to push the projectile - the bullet-clear through the body."

Do any of you still think there is anything believable about this statement? (outside of an FMJ bullet being capable of passing through JFK's chest)

Would you post a link to the FBI report you make reference to?

Billy Lovelady's statement found in CE 1381 was taken on March 19, 1964, and tells roughly the same story as both Lovelady and Shelley told in their testimony to the WC. The big difference is, in their testimony, they claimed they did not leave the steps until 3-4 minutes after the last shot; long after Baker supposedly entered the TSBD and after Gloria Calvery came running up to the TSBD steps with the news of the assassination.

Between all of their DPD statements, FBI statements and WC testimony, just how are we to determine when Shelley and Lovelady were telling the truth, and how much of what they said was modified by the FBI and the WC?

  5. It would prove everything except the guy walking down the Elm St. extension being Lovelady. I'm sorry but, the latest enhancement of the stills from Gerda Dunckel's gif even make some of the people's heads, as well as "Shelley's" suit jacket, appear to have a vaguely similar pattern to Lovelady's plaid shirt.

Let's face it, there just is not enough detail in the film to honestly ID the two men as Shelley and Lovelady, just as we cannot honestly ID PM as Oswald.

However, a difference in height between "Lovelady" and "Shelley" can easily be determined, and there is no doubt "Shelley" is taller. That is why I believe finding Shelley's true height in 1963 will finally tell us if this is actually S & L seen walking down the Elm St. extension.

Until then, all of this discussion about Lovelady's shirt is a waste of time.
