    Thanks for this great info.

    What does "SO" stand for?

    Gerry,

Special Operations. 1963, this branch was dealing with Autonomous Operations.

Bruce Cheever was Harvey's and later Fitzgerald's deputy. https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=219634#relPageId=3

Sam Halpern was Exec Officer for SAS. - Halpern discusses Harvey's temper tantrum. https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=162409#relPageId=33

  3. Jonathan,

The short story is that it was Oswald, Carlos Hernandez and Victor "Papucho" Espinosa Hernandez. I had 47 slides attempting to put this together. 🙂

Victor was "Leopoldo." Carlos the "other" guy. Sylvia never knew his name but thought it could be Angel or Angelo, but she admitted she might have got that wrong. The key to me was tying all the New Orleans Cubans to Sylvia and Carlos and Victor.

  4. Trettin worked out of the NOLA DCD office during 1963. Guitart was to act as a cutout to recruit HIS uncle who was visiting in Canada.

    Here's Guitart's file. - https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=236010#relPageId=13

Larry Hancock and I presented on this at Lancer along with Sylvia Odio as a probable cutout in the recruitment of Carlos Lechuga. She was working though Manolo Ray. Ray's Case Officer was Alfonso Rodriguez (Special Affairs Staff/Special Operations.) A-Rod had worked for Harvey as his Special Assistant for Task Force W. AR was also case officer to Rogelio Cisneros. A-Rod was also a key player in the effort to "split the regime."

We also presented on who I believe were Odio's visitors.

From Jim Harwood,  Interesting if true:

Does anyone know that Atlanta based foodservice company DIAZ FOODS is directly linked to Castro's late son?

Now get this the matriarch of this Miami to Atlanta Diaz family married Castro and Herminio is her son (she died in 1996).. She was Castro's first wife.  She then marries a US Military colonel and he forms what we know today as AFLAC insurance, you know the commercials with the duck quacking out "AFLAC". Now all of this occurs in Columbus Georgia and the grandson and his daddy move to Atlanta in 1968 and form a hispanic food distribution company. How they god damn knew we'd be up to our ass in Hispanics way back in 1968 is beyond me.

Now get this: The grandfather Salvadore Diaz Verson was the head of Cuban Intelligence under Batista , which would have to mean he at least knew the likes of Meyer Lansky etc.
In 1964 Salvadore Verson Diaz (I dont know which comes first the Verson name or the Diaz name) testified before the Warren Commission and I believe he told them Oswald tried to get into Cuba via Mexico.

The Diaz family are darlings of Georgia and the southern oligarchs of Atlanta. When we see all these Hispanics today in almost every state in the Union be aware Atlanta was their first base they landed. Governor Carter allowed them to flood into the dirty city of Atlanta. I like Lincoln's General Sherman's Atlanta policy. We should use it today.

Alright, another fun fact known by few. PS- The FBI released some docs under Trump which told of the 1966 dealings of these Diaz which included smuggling heroin into the US via Mexico. Their partner was another hispanic named Esteves. I bet everything I own that this was one of Martin Sheen's brothers. They're both buried in border towns of Mexico and the US. They were sea merchants.  You know Sheen's mother was related to one of the writers that did a hatchet job on Jim Garrison. It's an Irish name but I can't remember it at the moment. The Sheens spent their summer in Bermuda and British owned island off the coast of the Carolinas.

Totally different Herminio Diaz. We are talking about Sandalio Herminio Diaz-Garcia born 9/3/23. Died 5/29/66. He was with Tony Cuesta when Cuesta was wounded.

Here's a bit from another post:

Thanks Ron and Larry. I've seen HDG's jobs as chief of security detail (59-60) at the Riviera, cashier (63,) and restaurant worker. He was of great interest to the CIA due to his connection to EFIGENIO AMEIJIERAS. EA was one of the big six (Item 4 A) that the CIA was counting on to overthrow Castro as part of the AMLASH project. Carl Jenkins and Manuel Artime did not much care for him though.

I've come to the conclusion that if he was involved, it would have been through Carlos Zarraga. Zarraga and HDG went back a long way to pre-Castro Cuba as members of the old UIRZarraga (AMOT-133) de-briefed HDG in September 1963 after which the CIA assigned him a 201 number. Zarraga, Cuesta and HDG would run infils into Cuba.

  7. You know Larry, that's a good point about Tony Sforza aka Frank Stevens. He was under deep cover as a gambler. Interesting that the Varona mentioned in this document written by Jake Esterline, his handler was Tony Sforza. ( https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=235161) ) mentioned Herminio Diaz Garcia as part of the assassination.

    Ref - https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.html?docId=193177#relPageId=2

MM-761-S is Francisco Varona aka Pancho aka AMCONCERT-1

Based on my conversations with Martino's sons and his fathers remarks to his family, Martino was actually a bitter enemy of Trafficante who he blamed for his arrest and imprisonment in Cuba.  The actually names of the gamblers Martino worked for are called out in my book. He was not arrested for reentering Cuba but rather was still working in Cuba after the revolution and was arrested for trying to help get Cubans out of Cuba...arrested along with his son. His relevant friends and connections circa 1963 to the extent that I could vet them are called out in the 2010 edition of the book as is his role in organizing TILT, which I believe to be what brought him peripherally into the circle of those involved in the Dallas attack.

Some of Martino's own words - per his family - may be found here.

Larry, what Hotel/Casino did Martino work at? Was it the Riviera? I'm trying to put him and Diaz-Garcia together.

Can anyone advise if the statement in bold is a new claim or simply one that I have missed?

There was also an Angel Luis Castillo. He was related to Eddie Perez aka Bayo from Operation Tilt. He tried to get the CIA (Rip Robertson) to infiltrate a team to rescue Bayo.

As I recall, ZR/Rifle was a book put out with the assistance of Cuban Intelligence. As I recall, its central premise was that Oswald went to the consulate as part of a CIA pilot. Heck, this book even had an ID photo of the real Oswald on a form not give the Warren Commission. So, yeah, both the Cubans AND the Russians claimed the real Oswald was in Mexico City.

Claudia Furiati was the author with help from Gen. Fabian Escalante, Cuban G-2. Lots of speculation about Richard Cain and Eladio del Valle.

Johnny Cairns' monumental six part series commemorating the anniversary with 60 ways the official story is BS is finally up and interconnected.

It was not easy, as this is the longest, most comprehensive piece we have ever posted.

But Johnny made the best of a tough assignment and he came through.

Luxuriate in its completeness. Then ask:  How could the MSM have ever fallen for this BS story?

Great job by Johnny Cairns. He also had a top-notch presentation at Lancer.

This would not be a deniable operation so tracing would not be an issue,  weapons going back to the general commercial market would be just fine since Castro associated actors could easily pick them up in the US.   As to rifles in Texas or the south in general, you put them in the trunk of the car or the bed of the station wagon and go, people carried them openly on the streets. There were gun shops downtown so if you really wanted to be cool put them in a gun case (there were multiple reports of that from Dallas that day)    But more likely just park in the lot behind a building, put the gun inside a raincoat or jacket or have it in a package, take them out of the car, use them, throw them in the back of the vehicle as was described and drive off since nobody opened any trunks of the cars exiting the parking lot.

A serious shooter is going to use a bolt action or a semi-automatic since they expect to hit where they aim and they will have a clearly defined target in the open, take a couple of shots at the most and be gone.  I recall our arms instructor saying - when we were issued M16s  - look at the full auto switch setting and forget it.  You only use if for fire suppression - to stop people shooting at you, and you better have plenty of clips or they will just come on and kill  you.  If you actually have a target you want to kill  you use single shot in semi-auto mode.

As Larry stated above, bolt action rifles were used previously. We know quite a bit more about the training of early recruits for what later became the BOP. The early recruits were called the "cadre". They were to be highly trained in most paramilitary subjects that would enable them in turn, to train others in Cuba. Carl Jenkins was in charge of getting these guys trained. The "down range" (sniper) instructor went by the name of "Larry". His official pseudonym was Alton Pirnack. We don't know his real name at this point. Two of their trainees were Felix Rodriguez and Segundo Borges. They were to assassinate Castro at Varadero Beach with pre-sighted bolt action rifles (Operation Pathfinder). According to Rodriguez, he was sent in a total of three times but failed.
