Peter Power Pontificates on Pyro Plot Police Performance

Did anyone see Peter Power, “Crisis Management Expert” - Blighty’s version of Ace Ventura, Pet Detective - on the Beeb’s 8:00 a.m., news broadcast this morning?

Power, the former Anti-Terrorist Branch officer at New Scotland Yard, is the same Peter Power who’s company Visor Consultants was, quite coincidentally, running a:

“1000 person strong exercise which drilled the London Underground being bombed at the exact same locations and exact same times, as happened in real life”

To exactly purloin the exact same wonderful language used in a prisonplanet.com web story updated July 13th 2005. Of course, anything written by Alex Jones will not only contain a significant amount of outright and gratuitous butchery of the English language, but will also, in the eyes of some observers be deemed unreliable.

Which is why I re-listened to the newly tasked Peter Porker speaking live on the BBC Radio Five Live broadcast on exactly the same morning as 7/7 and at exactly the same time as it was broadcast.

The things I do for the sake of accuracy, eh.

Power: “…at half past nine this morning, we were actually running an exercise for a company of a thousand people in London, based on simultaneous bombs going off precisely at the railway stations that happened this morning.

Interviewer: “Let me get this quite straight. You were running an exercise to see how you would cope with this and it happened while you were running the exercise?”

Power: “Precisely. And it was about half past nine this morning, we planned this for a company and for obvious reasons I don’t want to reveal their name but if they’re listening they’ll know it. We had a room full of crisis managers for the first time we’d met and so within five minutes we made a pretty rapid decision this was the real one…”

The company that Power was retained to run this magnificently coincidentally timed and located exercise was an American bank (more on that shortly).

Power, meanwhile, let slip an important titbit of information that was not placed in the public domain until 9th July 2005, two days later. That was the fact that the 7/7 bombs were set off simultaneously. Which may only indicate he still has good contacts with Inspector Knacker of the Yard.

On the ITV News 7/7 Vision broadcast at 20:20, Porker revealed some additional information about the exact same event (the following I lifted from www.julyseventh.co.uk to save the effort transcribing the broadcast):

POWER: Today we were running an exercise for a company - bearing in mind I'm now in the private sector - and we sat everybody down, in the city - 1,000 people involved in the whole organisation - but the crisis team. And the most peculiar thing was, we based our scenario on the simultaneous attacks on an underground and mainline station. So we had to suddenly switch an exercise from 'fictional' to 'real'. And one of the first things is, get that bureau number, when you have a list of people missing, tell them. And it took a long time -

INTERVIEWER: Just to get this right, you were actually working today on an exercise that envisioned virtually this scenario?

POWER: Er, almost precisely. I was up to 2 oclock this morning, because it's our job, my own company. Visor Consultants, we specialise in helping people to get their crisis management response. How do you jump from 'slow time' thinking to 'quick time' doing? And we chose a scenario - with their assistance - which is based on a terrorist attack because they're very close to, er, a property occupied by Jewish businessmen, they're in the city, and there are more American banks in the city than there are in the whole of New York - a logical thing to do. And it, I've still got the hair....

So, a Jewish bank in the City appears to be closely connected to the commissioning party for Power’s curiously real timed and simultaneous exploding bomb plot exercise.

As an old City hand, my mind immediately summons up the image of Saloman’s massive dealing room where I once attended a job interview (but didn’t get). But that was many years earlier than 7/7. Nowadays, they’re known as Schroder, Salomon Smith Barney are are based at Canada Square, Canary Wharf. Hardly the City, I know but close.

But the really interesting thing is that Schroder Salomon Smith Barney is owned by Citibank. And for those of us who have looked into the background of Citibank (guilty on all counts, m’lud), it is hard not to conclude that this is a spook-infested bank of the first magnitude.

Leastways that was the distinct impression I gained from reading the affidavit of Lt. General Erle Cocke, a leading CIA bankster who spoke reasonably openly on certain financial matters relating to Citibank shortly before his death.

Very interesting, David. Thanks also for the timely transcript of Power's notorious 7/7 interview, which has had me gobsmacked since I first saw it all those moons ago.

The thing that has had me puzzled from the outset about that Peter Power interview is why on earth he gave it.

If I recall correctly, he gave both a radio interview and the Channel 5 interview in which he repeated the same astonishing story. Hardly, therefore, a slip of the tongue.

Any ideas?

There's nothing like a former policeman to appreciate the Gypsy virtues of having ready folding money cross his palm before he will consent to tell you his fortune.

Self-promotion? Perhaps. But there must be fairly strict rules governing that. Otherwise we'd have spooks and 'private contractors' dropping tidbits of insider knowledge all over the show.

I surmised that Power hadn't been in the loop at the time of his interviews - and simply didn't realize the import of his remarks.

Anyhow, given that the fearless and incorruptible British mass media have - as far as I'm aware - studiously exercised their power to overlook this astonishing story ever since 7/7, no harm done.

Which leads to another possible theory about what these guys are up to when they open gigantic cans of worms, deliberately, in full view - then close them up again and waft off into the ether of unaccountability.

In common parlance, it's called 'taking the piss'.

Power was a former policeman not a spook and having moved to the private sector he is not governed by rules other than making a living. Add to that his natural desire to promote his company (it’s mentioned in all the news reports) and you see the result. Thank goodness too.

My focus of interest is rather more on the City firm who employed him and who choose the scenario he spoke about.

Let’s throw into this mix another disturbing fact, which is that former Israeli Prime Minister and then serving Finance Minister, Benyamin Netayahu, was in town due to address an economic conference, jointly organised by the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and Deutsche Bank (who acquired Bankers Trust in 1999 and as I have detailed elsewhere is a bank that does for the CIA – check out the background of one Buzzy Krongard).

According to a number of press reports, Netanyahu was warned ahead of the bombings to stay in his hotel (later the story appears to have changed to read that he was warned after the first bomb detonated – but someone forgot to tell Israel National News who continued to report an unmodified story broadcast by Israeli Army Radio.

This is, I think, a critically important story for it appears to reveal the lie that the bombings took everyone, including the authorities, by complete surprise. I am not, therefore, in the least bit surprised that it later underwent modifications.

I took note of these events because my youngest son was on one of the trains that was blown up – but got off the stop before it detonated. Lucky escape.
