In 1975, the Senate Committee on Intelligence (also known as the

"Church Committee") investigated reports that the CIA was involved in

plots to murder foreign heads of state. The investigation was a result

of a series of published reports by columnist Jack Anderson that the

CIA and the US Mafia had conspired to kill Fidel Castro.

Shown is a memorable exchange between Richard Helms and Sen. Christopher Dodd over whether or not the CIA's supplying Rolando Cubela with an instument of murder constituted an "assassination plot".
