Conspiracy theories never die

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

"I REALLY enjoyed your article on Marilyn Monroe in Parade. Had such

a crush on Marilyn when I was 7 years old. Clearly remember being

devastated when she died; it ruined my young plans to grow up and

marry her." So writes serious author Lamar Waldron to me.

Waldron has appeared before in this space. He is one of the leading

exponents exploding and augmenting the various JFK-RFK-Cuba and the

Mafia conspiracy theories.

WHEN HIS newest book "Legacy of Secrecy" comes out in November from

Counterpoint Press, we'll be on the receiving end of new info about

the Mafia's glamorous Hollywood villain, Johnny Rosselli.

The complexities of these many related killings and the fact that so

many new revelations are being monitored by Waldron and others from

sources the CIA and FBI kept covered up for years is all a bit too

much for us to cover here in a mere column. You should read Waldron's

last book "Ultimate Sacrifice" and his coming "Legacy of Secrecy" if

you really want the facts.

LET'S CONCENTRATE on Johnny Rosselli. He was an unofficial member of

Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack in their Vegas glory days. He knew Judith

Campbell who became JFK's mistress. He hung with Marilyn Monroe. He

worked for Sam Giancana and the Chicago mob and also with the CIA on

a variety of plots to kill Fidel Castro. Rosselli was treated like

royalty for a time.

But, in 1976, almost exactly 32 years ago, after he had testified

privately to Sen. Frank Church's Senate Intelligence Committee,

Rosselli's mutilated body was found in an oil drum taken from a Miami

canal. (Nobody was safe from leaking after testifying before this

particular arm of Congress!)

NOW ROSSELLI'S story is on its way to the big screen thanks to actor

(and former Chicago cop) Dennis Farina, writer Stephen Kronish and

others. Taking extensive material from Waldron's last book "Ultimate

Sacrifice," they are turning Rosselli's life and death into screen

drama.

You've seen Farina most recently on "Law and Order." (He began

moonlighting as an actor in the 1981 series "Crime Story.") In

producer mode he has another project set in'60s Las Vegas - "Robin

and the 7 Hoods." He'll bring that to Broadway in 2010. They'll add

some classic songs to the original Frank Sinatra film.

IN CASE you're a buff, Waldron's second book is chiefly concerned

with the JFK-RFK plan to overthrow Cuba's Castro by using a high-

ranking army officer named Commander Almeida. (He is still no. 3 in

Cuba today.) This plan was compromised not only by Rosselli, but also

by mobsters Carlos Marcello and Santo Trafficante. These men also

used Jack Ruby in Dallas to confuse the assassination of President

Kennedy. They were also involved in hiring James Earl Ray to kill Dr.

King. (Here's a fascinating detail. A street map found in Ray's

rooming house contained a marking showing Rosselli's L.A. apartment.

The FBI under Hoover knew such details but didn't release them.)

I know it's all a long time ago. But as new details emerge from

dedicated, obsessive investigators like Lamar Waldron - well, it adds

up to new history. It can't be ignored.

Don, I see you wrote about Rosemary Willis:

She was recently filmed for a Japanese TV special about James Files:

"pop-pop, very close together". Yeah, Nicoletti and Files were close indeed!

The New Jersey Journal.

Who is the author of this trash?

It sounds a lot like that gossop columnist S. Smith, who promotes all of Waldron's conspiracy theory junk.

Can someone please ID this writer?

Thanks

Also, Wim, The Japs are doing a "documentary" on Files? That sounds hard to believe.

Why won't anybody do a real documentary on the assassination based on Summers, or Russell, or Newman, or Hancock, or Morley, or Talbot or anybody who writes the truth?

Yeah, Bill , I guess the Japanese are insane. Duped by Files too!

Here's another little fragment:

Yes, Wim,

But that doesn't answer my question.

I didn't say the Japs were insane for being duped by Files, he's tabloid fodder.

I want to know where are all the real documentary film makers?

Why can't Talbot, Morley, Russell, Summers, Newman or anybody who writes real journalism get their books made into documentaries, yet Bugliosi, Waldman, Files and others with half assed theories get millions and movie deals?

What does Files tell us, or the Japs, that provides new evidence or witesses that can take the case further and resolve it?

Hey Bill,

So you think because the Japs made and aired a program on James Files, that's proof he's full of xxxx?

Well then, following that theory, why has he not been aired in the USA yet?

Maybe your guys should start with the Japs too?

Wim

Yo! Wim, back off there fella, I didn't say he's full of anything, and I haven't seen the Jap film so why would I comment on it.

All I asked was where Files takes us with his story, other than his own glory?

Does he give us any leads we can track down, any evidence that we can introduce to the grand jury, any new witnesses that are still alive who can fill in any more of the picture?

So far, all I see is more bluring of the picture when I go down Files' alley. There's already a dozen threads started on Files, why not talk about the Jap Files flick there?

I'd like to bring this back to topic: LAMAR WALDRON'S Imminent, "Legacy of Secrecy" book. I will say that Lamar Waldron is full of crap.

Will someone please identify the author of the column/blog that Don posted? Is it Smith?

Whoever writes,

"IN CASE you're a buff, Waldron's second book is chiefly concerned

with the JFK-RFK plan to overthrow Cuba's Castro by using a high-

ranking army officer named Commander Almeida. (He is still no. 3 in

Cuba today.) This plan was compromised not only by Rosselli, but also

by mobsters Carlos Marcello and Santo Trafficante. These men also

used Jack Ruby in Dallas to confuse the assassination of President

Kennedy."

If you're still confused, all of Waldron's books are chiefly concerned

with blaming RFK for setting up the assassination plot/team to kill Castro

that they used as part of the Dealey Plaza operation, which is a planed

extension of the original cover storyto blame Castro for the assassintion of JFK.

Waldron, and Gus Russo and Max Holland and those who promote this

"conspiracy theory" are parrots, mimicking the black propaganda op

that was set up as part of the assassination.

I'm not confused at all. I know exactly who they are and what they are trying

to say and do. It's not only a false, wrong theory, it's deliberately confusing crap.
