William Kelly
You too can penetrate the most feared and vilified counter-assassination coalition in the world. Join us at the JFK Monument at American University where President Kennedy gave his Peace Speech, at 12 noon on Wednesday June 10, 2009. The Kennedy family has asked that we memorialize JFK's life, rather than his death, and so, while we still meet annually in Dallas on the day he died, we chose to also meet every June 10th to honor JFK's vision, policies and life, and have done so now for about ten years. The first year John Newman, Dan Alcorn and some two dozen others joined us and afterwards held a mini-conference on campus. Most years there are only a few of us, half-dozen sometimes, but it is always a meaningful experience as we take turns reading parts of the speech and explaining how JFK affected us individually. Rahman, an Indian working in London, flies over just for this memorial service, John Geherity has been with us and a few other members of this forum who live nearby have shown up. And since it is on a Wednesday, Congress may be in session or you can help us lobby them by visiting your congressman at his office or the Congressmen on the NANA Oversight committee and urge them to hold hearings on the JFK Act. It would also be a good day to visit the NARA and check out some of the JFK assassination records. Here's the COPA memo John Judge put out: And We Are All Mortal, June 10, 2009, American University campus Friends, On June 10, 1963, just a few months before his assassination in Dallas, President John F. Kennedy gave what his aide Arthur Schleisinger, Jr. called the most important speech of his term in office. He addressed the Cold War, the nuclear arms race and the chance for world peace through detente and disarmament and a ban on testing nuclear weapons. The text is attached with commentary. This was consistent with his decision in April, 1963 to withdraw all US troops from Vietnam and his decision to explore normalizing relations with Cuba following the Cuban Missile Crisis that brought the world so close to nuclear war. All of these were reasons, in my view, for the assassination and coup d`etat that followed on November 22, and reversed those plans completely. The Coalition on Political Assassinations (COPA) holds an annual commemorative event at the plaque that marks the location of the speech, and you are welcome to attend. We will gather for a meal and discussion of our November regional meeting afterwards. Please respond if you are planning to come - John Judge "And We Are All Mortal..."
