Bernice Moore
NOSTALGIA... Watch all of these and you will be stepping back in time. Universal Newsreels http://www.archive.org/details/universal_newsreels In the pre-TV era, people saw the news every week in their neighborhood movie theaters. Newsreels were shown before every feature film and in dedicated newsreel theaters located in large cities. Universal Newsreel, produced from 1929 to 1967, was released twice a week. These newsreels offer a fascinating and unique view of an era when motion pictures defined our culture and were a primary source of visual news reporting. from frog..B Edited April 4, 2010 by Bernice Moore
John Dolva
Great idea Bernice. Imo, not only is it important to immerse oneself in a period of study in order to fully understand things in context, the Kennedy administration straddled an important time in information dissemination with the advent of live TV news and real live Radio news (upgraded in mobility (first implemented in Dallas not long before the assassination, KBOX or KLIF)). News was also compartmentalised and weighted according to various states dogmas, a lot of this broke down with live transmissions.
Michael Hogan
Two political figures riding in a motorcade are gunned down. The episode happened in 1934 and was captured on film. It has some eerie similarities to another film. http://www.archive.org/details/1934-10-17_...r_Assassination
