James R Gordon
I am doing a pice of work on the head wound to JFK. If you look at Fox 6 (the wound as seen from the top of the head) the damage appears only to be shown to the middle of the head. However the Front lateral X-ray appears different. Looking at this image am I right is thinking that the x-ray depicts an entire right side of the head has been destroyed? It appears, to me, that a trough has been ploughed through the RHS of JFK's head. Is that what it is that I am seeing?? Thank you. James

Air in the tissues shows up black on an x-ray. As a result, the dark areas on the x-ray reflect those areas in which there is a combination of less bone and more air in comparison to the areas where there is more bone and less air, which show up white. FWIW, there is an extensive discussion of the x-rays on my webpage. Edited October 6, 2011 by Pat Speer
