Once you recognize that Lee Harvey Oswald was not the Sixth Floor Sniper and is not responsible for killing President Kennedy, then one is free to chase the real killer, the one in the white shirt and bald spot on the top of his head, as well as those who protected him and covered up the truth.

Proof that Oswald wasn’t the Sixth Floor Sniper does not mean he is totally innocent, as there is a paper trail that connects him to the rifle, and the shells found at the crime scene are connected to that rifle, as is the bullet found at Parkland Hospital, and Oswald’s fingerprints were found on the rifle and the boxes on the Sniper’s Nest window. There are problems in the provenance of all of this “so-called evidence,” as Oswald put it, and appeared confident he could refute when given the chance. A chance he would never be given.

As the designated patsy however, Oswald fulfilled his mission, like a rabbit let lose at the scene of the crime for hunters and their hound dogs to follow, everyone insists on chasing him – “Ozzie Rabbit” as he was known in the marines, a nickname based on a then popular comic strip.

If the approach to President Kennedy’s death is that of an unsolved homicide and it is subsequently determined that Oswald could not have been the killer, then the murder must at least be considered an unsolved homicide until all of the questions are answered.

Even if you ignore the evidence that exonerates Oswald [Doors of Perception - Why Oswald Is Innocent] and still believe he was the Sixth Floor Sniper, it can also be demonstrated that regardless of whether his role was that of the Assassin or the Patsy, he was not deranged, crazy, or a loner, but instead Oswald fits the criminal personality profile of a covert intelligence operative. So if, as in the adventures of Alice in Wonderland, you decide to go “Through the Looking Glass,” and follow Oswald into the Rabbit’s hole, you know you are going into another world, “The Wilderness of Mirrors,” and the crime is not an ordinary one.

Oswald was chosen and designated the patsy by the real assassins not only to serve as the rabbit to distract street investigators away from the real assassin(s) but because once it was realized the assassination was not the work of the rabbit or a deranged lone nut, but instead was a sophisticated covert intelligence operation, the trail didn’t go cold, but red hot. So those who pulled his government files would allow those who pulled the Patsy’s strings to go publicly unidentified, and the intelligence network responsible for the DealeyPlaza operation would continue to function unmolested for decades, and in fact, remnants of it remain operational today.

THE NOMENCLATURE OF INTELLIGENCE

Even if Oswald was the designated patsy and not the actual assassin, he must have been close to those who framed him, as only your friends and those you trust could frame you for a crime you didn’t commit. And it’s certainly a lot easier to frame someone who is a covert operative because they work on what they call a “need to know basis” and they follow the orders of their case officer.

First however, before jumping into the Rabbit’s Hole, as I learned in taking up the history of the game of golf, you have to learn the nomenclature of intelligence in order to understand what’s going on. If someone said they “hit a double bogie, two birdies and an eagle on the back nine,” unless you played golf or knew something about it, you wouldn’t know what they were saying.

The same principles apply to those who want to chase “Ozzie Rabbit,” the designated Patsy in the Dealey Plaza Operation, into the Rabbit’s Hole - so if you go Through the Looking Glass, you can make your way around the Wilderness of Mirrors if you know the nomenclature, as well as the sources, methods and techniques of intelligence.

In 1964, after being ceremoniously fired by President Kennedy for the Bay of Pigs, Allen Dulles published a book “The Craft of Intelligence,” which some say was ghost written by E. Howard Hunt, and touches on the subject of the language and the rules that are used to play what they call The Great Game - of espionage. This language and these rules apply to everyone who plays the game - regardless of what nation, agency or corporation they work for.

Fortunately for those who want to study these operations historically, the rules they abide by limits the realm of possibilities and makes it easier to understand what is actually going on, even though it is designed to be secret and covert.

Dr. David Mauer, a Kentucky college professor who taught linguistics, wrote the book “The Big Con” (1945), a study of the language of confidence men and swindlers of the early 20th century, which was later made into the movie “The Sting.”

Mauer’s book “The Big Con” was required reading in the classes on tactical intelligence methods taught by Paul Linebarger, the Maryland professor who wrote the text book “Propaganda,” and whose students included E. Howard Hunt, David Atlee Phillips and Edward Lansdale, who were versed in what Linebarger called the “Black Arts.”

Linebarger said that covert operations should be conducted like the Big Con Artists grifters of the early 20th Century pulled off their elaborate “stings” by paying off the local “dicks,” setting up the “Mark” in the “store front” façade and having the “Inside Man” play him for what he has on him and then sending him for more.

At the end of Mauer’s book he has a glossary of slang words and phrases commonly used by the con artists, and in the same vein, Peter Dale Scott posted a glossary of acronyms, words and phrases that the military uses and he uses in describing and discussing Deep Political events that are also covert intelligence operations - such as the Bay of Pigs, Watergate, Iran Contra and the assassination of President Kennedy.

Towards that end, I have also added some additional words and acronyms to the list.

In discussing Oswald, this list is especially useful in regards to his associations with people like George deMohrenschildt and Ruth and Michael Paine and their various friends and associates - the people who, intentionally or not, helped to frame Oswald as the Designated Patsy.

Ruth Paine, for instance, in the course of her testimony, expressed a familiarity with these words and phrases when she discussed Oswald’s “base of operations,” something that an ordinary housewife would simply refer to as home.

When US Army Ranger Bradley Ayers described some of his co-workers at JMWAVE, Gordon Campbell was the “Inside Man,” while his deputy Karl was the “Outside Man,” who dealt directly with the Cuban commandos, all set up around the facade of the fake corporation Zenith Technical Services, just as David Mauer described the players and the layout of the Big Store when the con artists pulled of a Sting.

GLOSSARY of Intelligence Terminology

Agent – An individual who acts under the direction of an intelligence agency or security service to obtain, or assist in obtaining information for intelligence or counter-intelligence purposes.

Agent of Influence – An individual who can be used to covertly influence foreign officials, opinion molders, organization or pressure groups in a way that will generally advance objectives, or to undertake specific action in support of objectives.

Agent Provocateur – An agent employed to stir up trouble, create chaos and generally make mischief (primarily in the opposition camp).

Analysis – A stage in the intelligence processing cycle when collected information is reviewed to identify significant facts; the information is compared with and collated with other data, and conclusions, which also incorporates the memory and judgment of the intelligence analyst.

Archival history - (PDS) A chronological record of events, as reconstructed by archival historians from public records; as opposed to deep history, which is a chronology of events concerning which the public records are often either falsified or nonexistent.

Asset – Any resource – a person, group, relationship, instrument, installation or supply at the disposition of an intelligence agency for use in an operational or support role. The term is normally applied to a person who is contributing to a clandestine mission, but is not a fully controlled agent

Assessment – Part of the intelligence process whereby an analyst determines the reliability or validity of a piece of information. An assessment could also be a statement resulting from this process.....

Bill, I think you bring up a lot of points in your Who Framed Ozzie Rabbit, post, and I am really just trying to make a point that I don't believe is commonly known. The Magic Bullet has always been a weak link, not to mention the bullet was not in any legal sense proven to have come from Gov. Connally's gurney. But that is getting off the point. What I find as another weakness in the case against Oswald, is that the bullet fragment that struck James Tague did not come from a copper jacketed bullet, as opposed to the other bullets that found their target. If anyone believes I am mistaken, even the WC documents attest to this.

Even in Dallas, Texas, television station WFAA-TV recently aired a one-hour program entitled The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald, in which the fictional account made this very point. Incidentally the results by the mock jury were 9-3 in favor of Lee Oswald's acquittal. The other surprising aspect of the television program, was that the actor who portrayed Lee Oswald, looked like a normal person, instead of someone who looked like they stuck their finger in a light socket.

I'm adding to this thread because I think the discussion of Oswald's guilt or innocence on the James McBride book thread, with no references to McBride's book, is getting out of hand.

I think that Len Colby has nailed David Von Pein's technique for arguing Oswald's guilt. Apparently, Von Pein believes that Oswald's [alleged] shooting of JFK proves him guilty of the Tippit murder...and that Oswald's [alleged] guilt in the Tippit murder proves his guilt in the JFK assassination. Circular reasoning, or "ping-pong logic"... For once, I'd like to see Von Pein argue his case without using the phrase "must have", or the phrase "any reasonable person knows..."

Because I don't think he can do it.

Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry stated that, regarding Oswald, we cannot place that man, with that rifle, in that window at the time the fatal shots were fired at JFK...or words to that effect. So if the chief of the Dallas Police Department believed that there is some reasonable doubt that Lee Oswald shot JFK...why should the rest of us, who weren't involved in the crime scene investigation, believe differently? [And Howard Brennan's "now he IS the man I saw, now he's not" identification of Lee Oswald should make any and all of Brennan's statements of dubious value.]
