Tim Gratz
John has a page on a former reporter for the Miami Herald named Don Bohning. Next month he is publishing a book called: "The Castro Obsession: U.S. Covert Operations Against Cuba, 1959-1965". It looks like it should be quite interesting. Bohning has collaborated on writing about Central American politics with Bernard Diederich, the former publisher of a Haiti newspaper, who has written several books about the right-wing Central American dictators of the early sixties. His book on the assassination of Gen Rafael Trujillo is discussed on the "thread" re a possible Dominican Republic connection to the Kennedy assassination. Of course, I think the title should be pluralized to "The Castro Obsessions." The first obsession was with the removal of Castro from power. The second obsession was/is CIA's campaign to depict Castro as responsible for the Kennedy assassination, which - had it worked - would have taken care of the first obsession. It's a little late for that now, of course, but that campaign still has its diligent proponents, irrespective of its transparent falsity. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
