So, the data has been pulled! Nevertheless, for those who believe it: Father: James H. Tippit b. 1805 in Tennessee Mother: Martha Adelaide Lee b. 1809 in Tennessee Married: 13 August 1865 in Clairborne Parish, LA Children: 1. James Madison Tippit b: 16 Sep 1866 in Clairborne Parish, LA 2. U. G. Tippit b: 16 Nov 1868 in Clairborne Parish, LA* 3. Annie Laura Tippit b: 19 March 1870 in Lisbon, Clairborne Parish, LA** 4. Thomas Jefferson Tippit b: 5 Jul 1872/ or 07/14/72 5. William L. Tippit b: 20 Jan 1875/or 01/20/76 in TX 6. Minnie Mary Tippit b: 15 May 1880 in TX 7. Nora Tippit b: 27 Sep 1883 in TX ___________________________________________________________________ * U. G. is Ulysses Grant Tippit and if recalled correctly is the grandfather of our J.D. Tippit. When I find the other paperwork, I will post it as the Tippit family history is quite apparently disappearing from history. **There is a discrepancy in the family history of Annie Laura Tippit who died November 2, 1951 at Waco, McLennan County, TX. One geneology has her listed as the daughter of J. William Lee Tippit , born in Texas in 1843, married to Frances Rebecca Clark 31 August 1865 in Clairborne Parish, La, and another listing has J.William Lee Tippit being born in January 14, 1845 in Tennessee. Tippit" listed, although there are approximately 20 various listings for Tippit's who fought for the confederacy. http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ Is the main search page for this valuable resource. J.H. Tippit is listed under the 27th Regiment, Texas Cavalry (Whitfield's Legion) (1st Texas Legion). And although there is no way, from the available information, to confirm if this is the forefather of J.D. Tippit, it would seem that this is the case as J.H.
