John Simkin
There is a BBC article and a video discussion of the Warren Commission here:http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/s...000/2725221.stm Steve Thomas I am afraid that the BBC is a loyal supporter of Tony Blair and any attempt to provide an objective account of the JFK assassination would be seen as “anti-American”. Here for example is the “context” section of this web page. President Johnson immediately appointed a committee to look into the recommendations in the report. In the years since the assassination there has been much debate about who actually killed JFK. A number of conspiracy theories ranging from an elaborately staged suicide to a right-wing government conspiracy have been suggested. Oliver Stone's 1992 movie "JFK" supported the conspiracy theorists however an official government review in 1998 again concluded there had been no conspiracy. The debate still continues with strong opinions on both sides. It of course fails to mention the House Select Committee on Assassinations report in 1979. It included the following: "The committee believes, on the basis of the evidence available to it, that President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy. The committee is unable to identify the other gunman or the extent of the conspiracy."
