This is very interesting information indeed. I also assume that was his phone number was EL-54800. I would like to tack down this address and see where it brings me on google earth.

According to Judy Baker(Author of ME AND LEE) Rorke knew Oswald and was the pilot chosen by Oswald to fly Baker to Mexico after Oswald successful delivery of a bioweapon to an agent there.

(Created to kill Castro by cancer). The bio-weapon deal failed, Rorke disappeared, and Ossi was sent back to Dallas, where the tragedy reached its final stage.

IMO Rorke is one of the suspicious deaths PRIOR to the assassination.

Like Stephen Ward or Bill Graham (both men died on August 3th 1963), Rorke knew to much...

The murder of Rose Cheramie failed...there where suicides, nervous breakdowns and wet jobs to do prior...

Karl, thank you for this information, I did not know Rorke knew Oswald, now I'm begging to think this how my dad may have met Oswald. Properly through Rorke or Sturgis? This is driving me crazy!

Thanks again Karl!

Sorry, Scott, I think there was a very low probability that the image you posted displays a Flushing, NY zip code that was written before Rorke disappeared on 24 September, 1963. IF it was written after that date, what would the point of making that address entry, have been?

I am a CT, I've read what you've presented with no preconceived notions. I found that the zip code in the image you posted was not publicly known until June 8, 1963. It is possible that your father was made aware of that portion of the Flushing, NY address and included it, and wrote it before Rorke disappeared. It is just not likely that it happened before 24 September. It is an obscure observation, but you have not verified or represented, so far, that it was Rorke who resided at or was associated with that Flushing, NY address, either. Why not verify it through an old city directory or property records?

Scott,

have you ever considered contacting Sherry Sullivan? Her father, Geoffrey Sullivan, was with Rorke when the plane disappeared.

I really appreciate everyones help, you guy's ROCK! And I mean that, Tom, thank you for your information, and yes I plan on looking into this and see if I can prove it was in fact Alex's place of residence. I'm also thinking a loud, but if my father met Sturgis in 1962 that would probably put him in contact with Alex at sometime sense Sturgis and Alex were good friends. (Just a thought)

David,

I don't know who Sherry Sullivan is, if you have away I could contract her, I would love to speak to her, my father's life has been quite the mystery, and with the help I'm received from you guy's on putting together this puzzling puzzle, really has touched my heart. I can't say thanks enough.....

Alexander Irwin Rorke, the son of Alexander Rorke, a Manhattan district attorney, was born on 9th August 1926. After graduating from St. John's University he attended the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.

During the Second World War Rorke served as a military intelligence specialist in the U.S. Army. He was responsible for the security of five German provinces and participated in the first postwar roundup of Communist agents in the Allied military zones of Germany.

After the war Rorke married Jacqueline Billingsley, the daughter of Sherman Billingsley, the owner of the New York Stork Club. Rorke became a freelance newsman.

According to a declassified FBI document, Rorke began working for the CIA in 1960. His contact officer was Commander Anderson of the United States Navy who was assigned to the CIA office in New York City. Rorke later joined Frank Sturgis, in attempts to overthrow the government of Fidel Castro in Cuba.

On 19th December 1961, Rorke and Sturgis, who was known as Frank Fiorini at the time, were involved in a CIA operation that included dropping over 250,000 anti-Castro leaflets on Cuba. Rorke was later interviewed by the FBI about these anti-Castro activities. The FBI report on this interview stated: "Rorke advised that in the event Fiorini would be arrested for his anti-Castro activities, he, Rorke, having good connections with a well-known newspaper chain, will make plenty of trouble for those involved. For the information of the Bureau, the newspaper chain, will make plenty of trouble for those involved."

Rorke and Geoffrey Sullivan made several flights over Cuba, including a bombing raid on a refinery area near Havana on 25th April 1963. Later that year Rorke began working for Luis Somoza, former president of Nicaragua. Jacqueline Rorke said her husband told her he was going to Mangua to see Somoza about opening an export-import business, but that he and Sullivan filed a flight plan in Fort Lauderdale for Panama. After refueling at Cozumel, they changed the flight plan to make Tegucigalpa, Honduras, their destination.

Rorke and Sullivan and a passenger identified as Enrique Molina Garcia, took off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 24th September, 1963. Later that day their aircraft disappeared while flying over Cuba. According to a statement released by Sherman Billingsley: "They were last seen when they were kidnapped or captured and are being held by the agents of an unfriendly government or, possibly, by that government itself."

Alexander Irwin Rorke was declared legally dead in 1968.

John, thank you for all this interesting information, that Fat Frank was everywhere wasn't he? I posed the question to Mrs. Sullivan if she would know if the address I have in my dads phone book is after all Alex Rorke? Also, there seems to be quite a few people my father was corresponding with who were living in New York, he has quite a few names in his address book. This might explain why the CIA was interested in my father in 1961? AJ Weberman says, and on May 31, 1964, the CIA showed an interest in Ed Kaiser, and two outgoing cables about him were generated which were denied in their entirely. [Ltr. Harry E. Fitzwater, Chairman, CIA Information Review Committee 1.4.82]

But I think it happen much earlier, I'm now have to battle the FOIA and FBI for my father's records which they say poses a National Threat to Security. I just think the agencies are hiding something they don't want the American public to know.
